Greece Concert - Poor Decision to Omit

Here is my second post for the day - I'm bored at home and have nothing to think about besides Celine.

 

I have been thinking....

 

Wouldn't it have been great to have a concert in Athens especially since Celine would like to play Maria Callas someday? I think a show there could have provided a lot of support and encouragement if indeed she does portray Callas. Performing in Greece could have "tested the waters" to see if Celine could be accepted as one of their own, so to speak. Because frankly, if the Greeks aren't even slightly enthused then how will anyone else be? I know Celine can't perform everywhere but omitting Greece was a dumb idea.

 

Just an observation. Thoughts?

If she does the movie, will it be in Greek? Or will it be in English (or even French?) and the release and everything in the US?

If she really wants to do it and it's aimed at a Greek audience, yeah, it would have been a good idea for her to go there!

I don't have many other thoughts on the matter, except I don't undestand what Celine's fascination is with that woman :S

Celine's (Rene's) decision not to visit Greece for a concert was wrong in many ways.

Despite the fact that she wants to play Maria Callas and something like that will be based a lot in the greek audience, she is also extremely succesfull in Greece. She has visited countries in this tour for the first time and she forgot Greece, the country in which she has sold more than any other international artist (Based on IFPI Greece she is the best selling international artist in our country) and she has a huge fan base. Even Shakira or 50Cent that were not quite popular in Greece gave a concert (and of course after that their albums went straight to platinum and gold certifications). Even Madonna has included Greece in her Sticky and Sweet Tour. Celine did not even mention it (on coming) in her interview with Nikos Aliagas

 

As far as the Maria Callas thing is concerned, it would be great for Celine to visit the country in which Callas was born and started. And as i said before, a production like that will firstly have as a target the Greek audience.

If Celine has a concert in Greece I might think to go there to see her since it's near my country... but it looks like that won't happen with this tour.

I am totally disappointed that Celine and her team didn't include our country in her tour! She is so much loved here and it's unfair for all her Greek fans!! At least i saw her in Germany..

I can't think of this anymore :evil: Rene sometimes has to take correct decisions....6 CONCERTS IN GERMANY AND NOTHING IN GREECE????Come on.....For god's shake!! She says that she admires Maria Callas,the country that she had borned, her culture etc...Do you want to know something.I don't believe her,because she hasn't done anything yet to prove powerfully her love to Callas.She hasn't even visited her country!Greece! Spain, Portugal and Greece all deserved to get dates but got denied. I hope Rene has learned something from the underwhelming outcome of the German leg of the tour.

I think we'll have to wait for a long long time in order to see if he learnt something from that or not.

It would be a great idea since here in Greece Celine indeed has a huge audience and Greeks respect artists like Celine because of her great voice...

I wish she'll come someday... It's just so unfair....
