yes it is! Ziggy is from the album Dion Chante Plamandon (or Des mots qui sonnent) most songs are covers from Luc Plamandon's Starmania:

 

The story of Starmania is difficult to summarise due not only to the range of themes introduced throughout the show, but also due to the changes that were made between successive productions. Set in the near future, where the Western world has become a single country, Starmania recounts three love stories set in parallel, touching also on themes of terrorism, totalitarianism, and an individual's right to decide his own destiny.

 

However the musical is very much a post-modern take on the challenges faced by many when confronted with techtonic cultural shifts occurring in a very short time. Marie-Jeanne, the waitress, is an Everywoman, ostensibly from a small town, who finds much of life in the big city overwhelming. The arrival of Sadia (transgender woman) and Ziggy (gay man) use sexuality/gender identity as a metaphor for foreigners or outsiders. Stella Spotlight, as an aging sex symbol, represents the past.

i really find I Want You to Need Me video very corny. i mean, celine singing in front of a man on a sofa? and sitting there in a very manly way? no way. she looks weird in that video, and not to mention, in some angle, she looks scary. the driving looks very fake and singing in the sand is very love the brown jacket though.

 

One Heart is fun, but her hair is a no no.

I think One Heart is very corny though regardless of her hair dont like that video much.

As for the videos from the 80's and early 90's i love them all i think they are great even if they are a little corny now days lol

IACBTMN was sooooo gooood guys, why in the world would you have ever thought it was corny? I used to try to act like I was in that video...even down to the part where she is "fake" brushing her hair

I don't think et je taime encore video is corny at all! I just watched it the other day for the first time in a while, and it really helped me understand the point they were trying to make with the song. I had always pictured it as sort of a "Contre Nature" setting (which btw is probably my fav video) in that her lover had left just for a short time... but with all the video shots of normal women around quebec I realized that the song is talking about a partner leaving for good. I think the video portrays it well (maybe better than the ziggy video portrays it's theme).

Misled is one of my favourite songs! But the video clip is a bit corny admittedly. She doesn't look particularly EXCITED to be going out? Instead she looks a bit fed up with the whole ordeal. And lets out a big sigh...However women DO get dressed a million times before deciding on an outfit. LOL!!

I loved most of IACBTMN. But I felt the cheese factor went up a little too high when he disappeared in her arms.

I didn't really like If You Asked Me Too... I don't really know why, either. I think it has something to do with the fact that she's walking down the street and suddenly decides that she's going to burst into song. And the creepy hand on her shoulder . Maybe if we'd seen a face, it'd have been okay. I really loved the mirror parts though.

Love Can Move Mountains... the only ONLY part I can't get over is the start, when she rips off her... priest outfit? I'm not even sure what to call it. But other than that, I love this video.

 

 

For me, it's gotta be "Taking Chances". I know you guys are talking about 80s/90s music videos, but I've never found anything wrong with them... but "Taking Chances" on the other hand... I mean... KUNG FU CELINE?! It'd been an excellent video if she wasn't going round breaking into people's rooms and then hitting the "bad guys"... and the part where "Celine" shows off her "motorbike skills"... not her! I was highly disappointed by that video, really But I got to admit that it made me laugh a little... I mean, I just can't imagine Celine throwing punches and kicking poeple... she seems too sweet to do that., you know?

 

I don't agree with adding TC to this particular list, but I definately agree with your views on the video. I loved the parts of her as "Celine" (in the room with the chair and the dancing and the singing) rather than "badass Celine". I actually made my own fanvideo, where I took out all the "badass" Celine clips, and replaced them with other Celine clips. Just because the TC video annoyed me so much .

The song is her being angry at her lover because he thinks that even after he's gone he's still going to be the center of her universe and she's pissed about that. My ex thought I would never get over him and he was sadly mistaken...he took a nice foot up the #ss for that one. (no pun intended)

 

And I don't think IACBTMN is corny at all. The whole thing with her being knocked out and having amnesia was genius to me...although the song is really about a break up and not a dying lover, but I love the whole concept of the video.

 

As for ONE HEART..I think it was a cute video. AND I LOVED HER HAIR IN IT!!! Probably the only time in the short blonde era that it really looked good and she should have worn it like that a lot more. It was sexy.
