Madonna 1 million tickets for 42 concerts (Who Cares)

I need to have a rant guys, as ever madonna is being praised for nearly 1 million tickets sold, however at least we know better.

 

I calculated that Celine sold 900,000 tickets with only 24 dates

 

South africa 400,000 tickets

Montreal 160,000 tickets

Amsterdam 50, 000

Copenhagen 42,000

Dublin 64,000

Tokyo 100,000

Osaka 80,000

 

Add the rest and you will come to a much higher number, much higher than Madonna will.

the thing I get sick of, is that everything Madonna does (or any other big artist) is always everywhere in the news, while Céline does a lot, even maybe more, then these artists, and that's not published anywhere. I'm getting fed up with the fact that Céline doesn't get the credit she deserves to get!

I've never liked Madonna.

 

I find her very conceited and generally unpleasant... of course, that could just be her stage personna...

But personality aside, I don't think much of her music. I admit I'm a fan of Like A Prayer but that's about it. Ever since Frozen I've been almost anti-Madonna. I just think she was lucky. As with anybody, the press reacted well to her so-called "reinvention" (a word that turns my stomach when used to describe Madonna and Kylie!)*

All that happened was a fading sexploiter from the 80s released an album in the 90s that could just have easily been a flop but was received well by the (UK) press. From there, she has gone from strength to strength and good luck to her! It could have easily turned out quite differently. I admit she is an exceptional business woman who knows how to dance and how to work her own hype but her music had little value to me. If Celine released a song about America and War we all know what would happen... She would be ridiculed endlessly...

 

But at the same time, if Celine released such a song it would be for the right reasons alone and she would not care at all if mindless people criticised her. As for Madonna, between her 'contreversial' music, her kiss with Britney and her very calculated collaborations, I wonder why she continues to be relevant.

 

I probably sound like a Madge-hater but the truth is, I couldn't care less today. I did once. I respect her endurance, her amazing talent for assessing trends and her former talent as a dancer. But when she sings... I'm ashamed... and I'm tone deaf.

 

But this is about her tour... And I'm sure it will do extremely well, as always!

 

* I have absolutely nothing againt Kylie! On the contrary, I think she's great. I just hate the media coverage insisting how wonderful Madge and Kylie are at reinventing themselves!

Why the hell don't ppl say "That's NO CELINE"? A little more attention would be nice

I remember watching American Idol this year and one of the contestants on there, the girl with the black hair and the tatoos, sang I Drove All Night, and Simon was like, I like it but I hear the Celine Dion version every time I hear that song and unfortunatley you are not Celine Dion. I got so tickled at that I was like she does not sing that no where near as good as Ceine.

because randy worked with mariah, and mariah fans also tend to be crackey houston fans, all randy does is kiss mariahs @s$ on that show, mariahs @$s must be sore from all the kissing it gets, all we need is David foster to be a judge on a singing competition show, he'd kiss celines behind day and night

I am sure that many people would be amazed if they knew Céline is selling equally (or more) to Madonna. People never expect that from her and Céline probably is one of the most underrated artists in history. She's a silent force... We all know she's the one who will sell over 5 million concert tickets in 6 years time
