some pats may be true, but no vagas is something I don't believe.. I heard from a person VERY close to Céline that she will do VEgas in 2010.. We will see, maybe she is about to leave Sony, but to what company is she going then.. if she is doing it under her own record lable she will always need Sony inc to release the albums anyway..

I don't think Céline would split with Sony-bmg since it's the most powerful recording company in the world.

 

Spreading this new is just an strategy,a call of attention to sony-bmg,a way of saying that they are not happy and want things to improve:more promotion and so on-

 

This is what Spanish worldwide superstar Julio Iglesias did 2 years ago.He threatened to leave sony because he didn't feel well treated and since then things have improved in his relationship with the company.

 

Recording companies aren't usually very intelligent but they are smart enough to not let go artist such as Julio or Céline.They are classics of show businness and are beyond fashions.

Maybe Celine and Rene look at that with dollar signs in their eyes. Then they could still keep re-releasing the 9 millionth edition of "A New Day Had Come" while on a new contract focusing on concerts and albums.

Although I agree that Sony haven't done much at all to support Celine much since her comeback in 2002, what would change if Celine went to another record label?

 

She herself, along with Rene, need to get involved in the decision making. Who decided to only make one music video for the "Taking Chances" album? Who decided on the ridiculous single choices? Why are radio not playing Celine anymore? Why would a change of label change any of these things?

 

Sony knows a good thing when they have it and with Celine, they have it. In a world of ever decreasing CD sales, Celine continues to sell well and the DVD sales from LILV have been astounding. Sony will fight to keep Celine.

Yeah it isn't logical....they're talking about a new French album and 2 live albums (French & English). They say she only needs to release 2 albums for her to be out of the contract with Sony, so they're releasing 2 live CD's. That means the French one would be under a new album.... that doesn't make any sense. How do they know what to release this far, with an entirely new label. Also, wouldn't that label want to have a first smash CD under their label? Wouldn't it make sense to first release an English album? Things just doesn't add up.... What is true, is that she will be promoting something (the DVD) early next year, could she also release a new album then? Almost impossible, unless she plans to record stuff during her summer break, release earlier recorded tracks or have a 'Best of'/live album out. So we'll see....

I agree. For someone as big as Celine... Sony would have to smash the rest of the company before letting her go.
