Kathy Griffin Comments

I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, so if it has, fill me in please.

 

Kathy Griffin makes a lot of acerbic comments when it comes to celebrities. Celine Dion is part of that repertoire and she has been for years. Kathy has said:

 

1) Celine's husband Rene has been raping her since she was 13, and that she felt so neglected among her big family that when "grandpa" came along she said, "I'll marry you!"

2) Rene's gambling away her millions at this very moment.

3) They spent hours scrubbing the yeast out of her white leather jumpsuit from the Falling Into You Tour.

4) The "A New Day..." show was described as, "the biggest freak show you will ever see."

5) Nobody cares about the "bullshit songs in French" she sings.

6) She chooses how French-Canadian she's going to be at a given moment, for the sake of crossing over.

7) Kathy has joked about the things Celine says on stage, pointing out that when Celine says, "This next song is for all the parents in the audience, and also the children," that's basically everyone.

 

At the same time, she's said that Celine is a great live performer, she has flawless vocals, and that she's incredibly nice in person. There's always a sense of silliness in these comments, as if she doesn't mean them 100%. But I wanted to know what everyone here thought of the things she's said about her. I personally think it's all hilarious.

Hehe I love Kathy and compared to the stuff she's said about other people, all her insults towards Celine are practically compliments.

I totally think what Kathy says about Celine is hilarious too.

Minus the rape joke.

shes making fun of her. it doesnt mean she doesnt respect her or her craft. but celine lives an extreme life, and theres a lot of comments to be made.

 

some say there is truth in humor, and i'd have to agree. but i dont think anyone is taking what kathy says seriously. people still support celine. i know i make fun of her, but i still buy her albums, go to her concerts, and think she is the greatest singer of quite possibly all time. celine isnt immune to ridicule. she just has a lot of money. and people can support her craft, making her millions, and make jokes about her extravagant and quirky life.

 

i agree kathy is hilarious. more power to her. both of them.
