Greeting from New Orleans, LA and Natchez, MS USA

I'm not really new here, but I never did do the Meet and Greet part when I first joined. Please forgive me for my rudeness. When I first discovered this forum, I just jumped in with both feet. I have been enjoying myself immensely and have "met" some really wonderful people.

 

I am almost 59 years old, but I only discovered Celine fairly recently, about a year and a half ago. I, of course, had heard of her, but I wasn't really familiar with her music (other than the obvious "My Heart Will Go On", "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Power of Love"). But I saw a video of her on YouTube when she was interviewed by Larry King shortly after Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast in August 2005, (including New Orleans, where I lived until Katrina, which destroyed our house. Now I live in Natchez, MS, but I still work in New Orleans, which is about 200 miles away) and I was just floored by her!!! She was incredibly upset and her emotion just reached out and grabbed me by the heart. I started searching YouTube for any video I could find of her and I discovered a wealth of music I never knew existed and, boy, has it made a difference in my life. I have found her voice and music to be a comfort to me after all the chaos and destruction. I also find that, as a person, she is almost awe-inspiring. She is probably one of the best role models for women around today. To be able to accomplish just a fraction of the things she has done would be a pretty full life for most people.

 

Sp, even though I am not "new" to the forum, I thought I would formally introduce myself and say "Thank You" to Celine and to this terrific forum for the music, graphics, fun and friendship that I have received.

 

So, as they say in New Orleans, "Laissez les bon temps rouler" which means "Let the good times roll"
