CBS NEWS' "THE EARLY SHOW" ANNOUNCES 2008 SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

 

Rockers, rappers, R&B sensations and country music artists will perform on THE EARLY SHOW as part of the broadcast's summer concert series. Additional concerts will be announced at a later date. THE EARLY SHOW is broadcast weekdays (7:00-9:00 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Zev Shalev is the executive producer.

 

Following is a list of performances that will be broadcast live from THE EARLY SHOW's plaza, studio or from remote locations in various cities.

 

Thursday, June 12 - R&B singer Patti LaBelle (studio)

 

Friday, June 13 - The cast of the Broadway musical Xanadu (plaza)

 

Monday, June 16 - The cast of the Broadway musical In the Heights (studio)

 

Tuesday, June 17 - Dan Zanes (studio)

 

Friday, June 20 - Chicago (Chicago, Ill.)

 

Tuesday, July 15 - R&B singer Donna Summer (studio)

 

Monday, July 21 - John Mellencamp (Chicago, Ill.)

 

Tuesday, July 22 - Singer and songwriter Sarah Bareilles (plaza)

 

Friday, July 25 - Journey (San Antonio, Texas)

 

Wednesday, July 30 - Country singer Toby Keith (studio)

 

Monday, August 18 - Billy Bob Thornton & The Boxmasters (studio)

 

Following is a list of performances that will be taped at 12:00 Noon, ET on THE EARLY SHOW's plaza and broadcast at a later date:

 

Thursday, June 12 - Country singer Trisha Yearwood

 

Friday, June 13 - Singer Cyndi Lauper

 

Friday, June 20 - R&B singer Rihanna

 

Monday, July 28 - Rapper LL Cool J

 

Friday, August 8 - Singer Celine Dion

OMG!!! I want to go but i'm already going in NYC in september :( :( I'm saaaad but it will be pretty amazing to watch on tv!!

But the article that was posted said they were going to be live, wether it be live from the studio, plaza, or other location.

She will be in Boston, Mass a few dates around that time [August 12 and 13 according to celinedion.com], and that's a pretty quick flight from New York to Boston, so it's possible that it will be LIVE and from NYC, and they will promote the start of the North American leg of her tour. The dates all coincide and that makes a lot of sense. She ends the Euro leg of the tour on July 12th, and comes to Boston to kick off the North American leg of her tour on August 12. She will probably be in the are a few days ahead to rehearse and setup, etc., so it seems to make sense to me.

 

They will be publicizing the tour then. Yay! Should be a cool interview and performance.

So it's going to be taped on 8/8, then broadcast later on? How odd... :shrug:

I hope she sings something new, although if she still says on the concerts that Taking Chances is her latest single she probably sing that or maybe Alone.

mmmm uh maybe not but please please please she has to promote other stuff.

Alone did not do anything on the charts and was sung many times before anyway.

 

Usually they sing several songs: 2/3

She'll definitely perform an oldie (TPOL, BYLM, MHWGO etc). As regards the new songs : My Love and an uptempo song (Shadow of Love or Fade Away) would sound perfect. :thumbsup2:
