ok, lets get this straight - i cant stand newleyweds but was being subjected to it at a friends house this afternoon! anyway it was the episode where jessica simpson sings at the superbowl (means nothing to me! :shrug: ) and as she was rushing around and panicking coz her hair wasnt right (aww bless), they were playing Thats The Way It Is!!!

 

sorry i know its a piece of pointless information but i thought someone out there might like to know!!

 

(btw jessica sang really out of key at the superbowl, celine did such a better job its uncomparable!! (sorry and jessica simpson fans!!))

I remember that, she was looking for hair pieces! I love Jessica...I have since I was 12. She can definitely sing and she's a sweet person. You all shouldn't be so mean to her, because you know she's a big fan of Celine's! :)

Yes, not only is Jessica a fan of Celine's, but one time, years ago, Celine contacted Jessica. I remember this because Jessica mentioned it on a TV interview in 1999, when she first appeared in the music industry. I don't remember if this is when Jessica toured with Ricky Martin or 98 Degrees, but Jessica came down with some type of flu-like or throat ailment and had to be hospitalized. Jessica said that Celine called her at the hospital and not only wished her well and to get better soon, but that she thought was a good singer and wished her many successes in her career.

 

Definitely seems like something Celine would do!

Yup, she was in hospital with strep and the flu, and Celine called her :) I remember her posting on her diary on her website, and telling us that, she was sooo amazed and excited! It was definitely nice of Celine to do that! :) And she said Celine and God are the people she looks up to most :)

 

I know she says silly things sometimes, but don't we all? After watching her life for 9 years, I honestly don't think she's stupid. She plays it up for the camera, and it certainly worked! The general public never paid attention to her before Newlyweds.

I know she's made some mistakes, but she's nowhere near as bad as Britney! She's never been in trouble with the law, or to rehab, for a start!

I also can't wait for her new country album (being a country music fan). Have you guys heard her new single "Come On Over"?

I live in the U.S. and didn't even know she already had a new single, LOL! I know she's working on a country album, but had no idea she had a single already!

 

I know Jessica is a good singer but it's such a shame her last album flopped. It seems to me that she's going the country route to see if that works for her or not... It's almost as if she's resorting to options not previously considered to reclaim some lost fame, no?

I agree with you... Jessica is definitely smart and not as stupid as she sometimes makes herself out to be. I remember when she was a new artist and watching interviews with her from 1999-2000 and she seems like someone with a good head on her shoulders and knows what's going on. But I was surprised by the way she acted when she did the Newlyweds show... But it made for good TV and gave people lots to talk about because it sure did work. Otherwise the show might have been very bland.

Jessica's second album is titled Irresistible. It was a fairly good album, I think. In This Skin was also decent, but her vocals could have been stronger.

 

I just looked for Jessica's new song and found it on YouTube. I must say that it is better than the songs from her last album, A Public Affair. That album was not very good, in my opinion, judging from the songs I heard online.

 

Jessica's new song definitely sounds very country! The song sounds better than some of her previous material... I wish her the best!
