Already downloaded the bug-free rc2 version. It works so fine. Best browser ever next to Apple's Safari.

Me too! It uses far less resources than Version 2. :geek:

With more than 14,000 improvements, Firefox 3 is faster, safer and smarter than before.

:o

Doesn't Safari lack many features?

I don't like use RC version, and many addon are not compatible to V3 yet. Safari lacks many features, and crashes often. I don't like it. At least I mean Safari on Windows sucks. I love Safari on my iPhone.

Oh, no, Vic, it's all featured like FF3 - Safari also includes the automatic bookmark search when you type something into the address bar. It even has a plugin for ad-blocking, very reliable and it is very fast. Both are very very fast. I use it on my mac on default and FF3 on my Vista computer.

I thought the official version was being released today, but I still only see RC 3

I've pledged, but although it says today is the day, I don't see a place to download it, so I don't think it's ready for launch quite yet.

On the FAQs for this, someone asked if there would be merchandise available to commemorate Download Day. I emailed them and suggested "koozies" (insulated foam can/bottle holders). It could say "Firefox put me in the Guinness Book of World Records" or something along those lines.

spreadfirefox.com is down. It's stupid they dont use good enough server, if they want to break record.

If you have already finished installed Drupal, this either means that the username and password information in your settings.php file is incorrect or that we can't connect to the MySQL database server. This could mean your hosting provider's database server is down.

The MySQL error was: Too many connections.

Firefox Grabs Official World Record for Most Downloads in a Day

Last month’s release of Firefox 3 marked the latest iteration of the second most popular browser behind Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. To mark the occasion, the Firefox 3 team looked to set a world record for the number of downloads in a day.

Firefox 3 was a shoe-in to set the Guinness World Record for most software downloads in a day since the record didn’t previously exist. The record was made official today with Guinness certifying that Firefox 3 was downloaded 8,002,530 times in the first 24 hours of its launch. That number weeds out all duplicate downloads and automated downloads.

Even though Firefox 3 holds the record for most downloads in a day, it still holds a fraction of the browser market that number one Internet Explorer has. According to The Wall Street Journal Firefox held 19.03% of the browser market in June while Internet Explorer captured 73% of the total browser market.

Firefox and other browsers are gaining ground on Microsoft-- albeit slowly. According to The Wall Street Journal, Internet Explorer lost about half a percentage point of market share per month for the last 12 months.

Mozilla announced its record setting attempt with much pomp and fanfare on June 17 and to commemorate the occasion the Internet Explorer team at Microsoft even sent over a cake.
