When Celine is talking about having "humidity" on the stage... what exactly does that mean? Because I was thinking air-conditioning but then that doesn't make a place more humid, so is she talking about having warm air pumped onto the stage?

*confused!*

:hmm:

well i don't know the technical stuff... but simply said; they blew kinda like a steam substance into the building (and her home) so the humidity of the room would be higher, instead of that dry desert air ;) it's like an airco but instead of air it was humid air that was blown in :)

oke that sounded stupid :lmao:

It just makes the air more moist. To make the explanation super short lol.

Just thought id throw in this little explanation of a Humidifier for anyone who wants to know :)

(by the way its from wikipedia)

"A humidifier is a household appliance that increases humidity (moisture) in a single room or in the entire home. There are point-of-use humidifiers, which are commonly used to humidify a single room, and whole-house or furnace humidifiers, which connect to a home's HVAC system to provide humidity to the entire house."

CHOCOLATE is the answer....I don't give a damn what the question was!

It put moisture in the air for her voice so it wouldn't be so dry, with it being in Nevada and all...desert area

So her voice would be moisturized and up to par every night :)

actually it's not the humidity that confuses me, it's the thing that celine inhales while she's in the car. saline? i have no idea. Edited by dhena

Saline it also humids to vocal cords and makes her voice smoother ...maybe that's what made her so Nasal

Saline is actually just a mixture of salt and water. It basically clenses the nose and removes excess mucus and just moisturize the nasal area. Edited by AllCeline

i think what she meant was to make the air in the theater more moist, so it doesn't harm her throat!

vegas is in the middle of the desert, and it is very dry there, i think.. i don't know if its accurate, someone told me some artists have tried to have concerts there, but because the very dry air, it damaged her/his throat very very badly!

She had to do the show night after night and singing nasally helped her stamina.

And maybe this is also the reason why Celine became ill so often in Las Vegas with the flu and other respiratory issues. I read somewhere that the constant use of humidifiers and other solutions cleanses and moisturizes the nasal area to the point of making an individual more susceptible to viruses and bacteria.

I have asthma, and so does Celine. I have to take those same kinds of breathing treatments. It helps just clear the airway passages in your lungs and also your nose. So you can breathe better. :)

let me put this in simple words...when you try to talk and talk, you enhale more and more air so that makes your throat drier everytime you open it. (try it on your house) notice that when we have long speeches (or those speakers or celine on her concerts), we tend to bring bottle of water with us. humidity makes the air more humid...means it contains enough vapor for the person to enhale with in order for him to moisten his throat. esp on the dessert where air is very dry. i think, it would not be pleasing to watch celine sips a water from a glass after she sings The power of Love. hehehe.

hope i shared a little info.

As everyone has already said above, the saline just adds moisture to her throat and nose. It must have been very hard on celine having to sing in that very harsh and dry environment.

For the rest of us who suffer from dry nasal passages, try "Ocean". It's a saline nasal spray that was recommended by my ear, nose and throat doctor. You can get it at most pharmacies, etc., and it works great.

It does not, however, come with a mask and tube that pump it into your throat and lungs. LOL
