Amsterdam - Sing along!

I hope the mod's don't mind me starting a new topic for this, but I guess we need some attention if we want this to work out... I made a text people can use to spread the word about singing for Céline in Amsterdam. Please feel free to put it on your website, mailinglist or anywhere else you like... I know some people will be printing it and spreading it in their block, so if you're up to it as well, please volunteer! You can copy-paste the text and use it where ever you like! The more people know about this, the better! Let's thank Céline in a special way and make it to You Tube! THANKS!

AANKONDIGING: Wij willen Céline graag op een ludieke manier bedanken voor haar komst naar de Nederland, namelijk door met de hele Arena voor haar te zingen! Het plan is om deze actie te houden op het moment dat ze op de piano gaat zitten, voor ze het nummer 'My Love' zingt. We zullen een deel zingen van 'Because you loved me', met een aangepaste tekst. We hopen dat u meezingt en zo uw waardering voor Céline laat blijken!

 

ANNOUNCEMENT: We want to thank Céline for performing in The Netherlands by singing for her with the entire Arena! We want to do this when she sits down on the piano, right before she sings the song 'My Love'. We will sing a small part of 'Because you loved me', with slightly changed lyrics. We hope you will sing along and show your appreciation for Céline!

Thanks Laura for preparing this text, esp. the Dutch version which I wouldn't be able to prepare by myself, haha!

Now I can print it and cut it into small papers which I can give to people in my block and maybe to some people which I will see before the show!

I really hope we'll get the entire ArenA to sing!!! That would be GIGANTIC!!!

how do you plan to get the whole arena to sing a song at celine without any given prompt?

No, I was like waiting for people to start singing, but there wasn't any time..

Yes it's a shame. But it still was a magical evening. And I'm sure the crowd being so pumped up and enthusiastic made up for the song

Some people were handing out the flyers but they were told that wasnt allowed

Shame it didnt work as planned. Still a fab idea though.

I had about 100 flyers and I managed to hand all of them without being disturbed by security people. Later even some other people came to me asked if I have more of these little "briefjes" but I have handed out everything I have...

Guess 100 pieces wasn't much but I wasn't able to print out more.

I think it maybe would work if there were more people involved. If this action would be organized a bit more ahead and if there were more fans who could made and hand the flyers, maybe we would succeed, who knows....?

I honestly think that the problem was that Céline introduced the song slightly different from what she had done before, so everyone was surprised and was listening to her. She asked the crowd if everyone was doing allright, the crowd was shouting, it just was different. I was listening and thinking: WE SHOULD SING! at the same time. And then suddenly she was in the middle of her explanation how special the song is for her. People did not want to be rude and stop her from talking, I guess. It felt weird to start singing while she was talking, there was not a moment of complete silence. We were also told that Céline's team would not appreciate this gesture because they are on strict time-schedules, but I think that's bullshit. It's not like we would be singing for 15 minutes or something like that! I did hear some people sing, but it did not spread, unfortunatelly. And I guess you are right, if we had more time and could have organise this better, it probably would have worked. Well, we keep this in our heads and hopefully Amsterdam will get a second chance!
