Céline colaborará en un Concierto a beneficio de los damnificados por los terremotos en China, en la plaza de Nathan Philip del Ayuntamiento de Toronto... se presume que será via satélite :yes:

In the wake of recent the earthquake in Sichuan Province in China, the "Canada Sichuan Earthquake Relief Committee" has arranged a charity concert on Saturday, May 31 at Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto, from 1:00 - 6:00 PM.

 

There will over 20 performers, local and international. Concert organizers have received a positive response from humanitarian and mother, Celine Dion. Beyond making a financial contribution, she will also contribute to the concert. The committee also gives deep thanks to The City of Toronto, which has kindly funded the normal cost of the event venue.

This humanitarian disaster on May 12 in China has cost over 60,000 lives lost, 5 million left homeless and an estimated 350,000 injured. China’s new openness has been key to effective deployment of international aid.

 

The Relief Committee has received so far over $250,000 dollars from private individuals, and $300,000 in medical equipment from the wholly Canadian owned company Apotex - all this in less than 2 weeks since the disaster.

 

The funds from private individuals have been raised almost exclusively through 70 organizations within the Chinese community in Toronto. Nevertheless the disaster in Sichuan is an event of international importance, and we are therefore reaching out to the rest of the community in the GTA and inviting people from all cultures and backgrounds to broaden attendance and support for those left homeless and suffering.

El concierto será el próximo 31 de mayo ¿verdad? A lo mejor graba su aparición esta noche en Dublín, tal vez Pepillo pueda decirnos si Céline dijo algo al respecto.

Espero tú y tu familia esteis bien.

 

He querido escribirte desde hace tiempo. Sé que Bruno y tú habeis estado trabajando sin descanso para ayudar a todos los que han sido afectados por esta tragedia como ha sido el terremoto en la provincia de Sichuan.

 

Rene y yo no podemos imaginar la tristeza y la desesperación que todos han de estar sintiendo debido al desastre en la región.

 

Sabemos que las familias que han sido afectadas necesitarán de mucha ayuda durante años y confíamos en tus contínuos esfuerzos para seguir cuidando de ellos, así el mundo no lo olvidará.

 

Queremos hacer un donativo a la fundación que habeis creado ara ayudar a los necesitados. Por favor, haganos saber como llevarlo a cabo de manera inmediata.

No cabe duda de que además de ser una EXCELENTE artista, es un GRAN ser humano :giggle: ... y creo que como ella muy pocas, y éso la hace aún más admirable y es por eso que todos los chismes que le inventan y la mala reputación que intentan hacerle no importa, porque esos chismes son NADA al lado de la calidad humana que tiene. :in_love:
