In his defence, Celine personally invited him as a Christmas present to come backstage. She really really likes him a lot. He touched her heart very much when he met her quite randomly in South Africa and it looks as if she wants to keep in contact.

I'd just like to say, bc it makes me sad to hear, and I'm not speaking to you Claudette or anyone in particular, but I have seen a lot of negative comments about not only Curtis but other fans getting M&Gs, when we don't know the reason why they were chosen so it's not fair to judge and say "this person hangs out with her all the time" which may or may NOT be the case. We should be happy for them! I would give everything to have a second with Celine just like so many of you, but it can't happen until the time is right and so we have to support each other and be happy for other people's opportunities. To me, seeing fans with Celine is almost like I'm getting to meet her through their smiles and joy. Which still feels pretty good!

So basically, we may jump to conclusions and think that this certain person , whomever it is, is meeting her all the time or have multiple photos with her, etc, when really there is a great story and reason as to why all of that happened that not many people care to know about. Just sayin!

I couldnt agree more! but curtis is a good friend of mine and he met celine for many reasons but i understand where you are coming from, but no matter what they will still go back again and again to meet her ... x

Curtis, I am very happy for you, that you got to meet your idol, YES even if it was for the 102nd time... BUT I will say and admit, like I did before, that I am very jealous of you (and all the other people who gets to meet her!)

Look at it from my point of view... you were born in 1995. I became a fan of Céline in 1996! I have been a big loyal fan ever since and virtually all your life, and yes I had my share of luck seeing her in front of hotels and in a few tv shows... BUT I don't have the connections to arrange a Meet and Greet, which of course is something I would dearly ever love to have! So it's only natural to be jealous of people who get a M&G...

My post wasn't a personal attack on you... Like I said there are many M&G's with so called fans, who probably don't even know Céline sings in French or what her mother's name is... That is what ticking me off... I am glad a real big fan like you got to meet her... but again that doesn't mean I am very jealous of you doing so! :flowers: I just wish TeamCeline would make M&G more possible, instead of thousand dollar charity auctions or the people in high places who have the connections...

And Lindsay... I don't sit behind the computer all day and complain... I have travelled the world for Céline many times and waited hours on end on my feet in the wind and the rain, in the smoke and the fire to get a glimps of her! But that doesn't result automaticly ends in a 1 and 1 with her :cry: :confused: It's about connections and I and most fans don't have those... :down:

I'm just trying to say that it's unfair to assume that people who express a negative opion are jealous.

Frankly, I don't really care that much who gets to meet her, it's none of my business. If you do, that's great, if you don't, then it wasn't meant to be.

I do, however, think that people who meet her should maybe have a certain level of respect for fans less fortunate. I'm not talking about sharing your story on her, or facebook, or wherever else. I mean bragging about it, and rubbing it in people's faces. I speak to a Celine fan, who is a lovely girl, and in my opinion, very deserving to get that oppurtinity, and she get's rather upset by somebody rubbing it in her face that they've got to meet Celine, and that's unfair.

Nobody knows that people who are expressing their irritation, are just sitting behind a computer, and doing nothing. They could be doing just as much, and have no luck. At the end of the day, it's all about the luck of the draw, and unfortunately, who you know.

Btw, I'm not aiming this at you Lindsey, I just quoted your post.

I've seen, many times, members of this forum being crazy happy for people who've recieved an autograph from a letter they've sent, or got to meet her. Of course there will be a minute percentage of bitter people, but that's in every walk of life.

However, I'd just like to say, it's also unfair to say you'd like a petition to go around, to get this forum removed, because you don't like what's being said. What about fans like myself, who just like to express their opinion, and get up to date with Celinish news.

People, life's too short to be bickering about who gets to do what, and who gets to go where. Don't worry, be happy *in a bob marley accent*

Apparantly Lindsey knows everything about everybody that voiced their opinions about this matter here. Lindsey, saying that we are just sitting behind a computer complaining and not doing anything to make our dreams come true is the same thing as when we said Curtis had his turn and (as you you claimed) we don't know the story. So remove the beam from your own eye before trying to remove the splinter from somebody else's eye. When you did not get what you wanted with the Oprah thing you made a big deal about it here and complained how unfair it is. Yet, you are probably one of the luckiest people here. You get to see Celine every now and again, saw her on Oprah, she signed your wedding invitation or whatever, went to two soundchecks, need I go on?

Everybody that posted here to defend Curtis can talk easily because they've had their chance (some of them are just worker bees with no opinion of their own). I bet if you did not meet Celine in the past you would have agreed wholeheartedly with some of us.

I don't care what any of you say. I still stand by what I said. It is unfair that some people get chance after chance. I totally agree with Davey and jessx that lately it is all about who you know and if you have the money... And yes that (and other things that happened in Vegas which I'm not getting into again) ticks me off.

should be greatful to have her. even if most of us dont get to see her and meet her. There are many deserving fans who deserve to meet celine,

Lindsey is one of them. Davey, thank for your reply. Its good to see another REAL celine fan. Claudette, i know how you must feel,

i was also frusterated when I saw other people meeting celine in 2007. but im 2008 it changed. but I was never making horrible comments. But i think

why us fans who have been honoured to meet celine stick up for ourselves and tell people how we met her, is cuz we get very horrible comments

and feel we have to defend ourselves. Thank you guys, and no hard feelings.

Curtis, I am very happy that you have had the opportunity to meet Celine as much as you have. On the other hand it also makes me sad. I went to the premier and the show the next night. I am disabled and losing the use of my arms and legs. I got to go to Vegas by collecting soda bottles and cans. I have followed Celine for 27 years, hoping and praying that some day I would get to meet her. I meet some people from the forum who had come half way around the world to see Celine. On Monday March 14th, we sat on the stairs of the theater, I wasn't on the stairs as I need a scooter to get around, even to get to my hotel room. We talked about Celine for a couple of hours. I was telling them how much Celine means to me and I told them things about Celine that most fans would not know unless they followed Celine as closely as I have; even down to how she puts her deodorant on and where she applys her perfume and when she uses it. The people there cried along with me as I discribed my loves and adnoration for Celine. Two Ladies from Germany, Kristin and Sabrina, were a couple of the people there. Everyone said I should have gotten one of the PR people and told my story to them, but I would not do that. Well unbeknown to me, these two ladies had approached Rene' about me getting to see Celine. He said he thought it was possible and gave Kristin Patricks phone number. Patrick told Kristin to be at the doors on the 16th at 5:30 pm and he would come and get us at 6:00 pm. When the door opened right at 6:00 pm my heart almost jumped out of my chest. Patrick went over to Kristin and Sabrina and told them it was not going to happen. When I was told I sobbed so hard that I made a fool of myself in front of all the people waiting to go in to the show. I wasn't even given the respect to have been told earlier where I could have gone off somewhere and grieved by myself. You see Curtis, I have had 53 surgeries and have several other problems even to the fact that I have had 152 fractures in my back and will NEVER have the chance to ever see her show again or have a chance to meet her. My one shot is gone. If it was not for people giving me bottles and cans to turn in I would not have been there in March. My husband and I are both disabled, and hardly have any money left each month to by groceries. So Curtis, please do not take it personally when people envy you and Ramona, it's just that we hold on to a dream that won't ever come true for some of us. My only contact with Celine is the forums, her music, videos and the storys that people tell about their meeting with Celine. I came so close and to miss it in a blink of the eye. I really thought God was going to fullfill that prayer, but I guess I'll have to wait until I die and go to heaven and wait for her to arrive there, then I will meet her. Thank you for listening to those of us who want to explain our side.

This topic has gone way past the point of the actual topic.... However, for all these people complaining etc if you were given the opportunity to meet Celine and she liked you and wanted to see you again you are telling me you would turn around and say I'd rather not as it's unfair to the people who don't have the connections to meet you?

Bullcrap.... It might be unfair but don't take this out on Curtis. That is Celine's/her teams decision and I can guarantee each and everyone of you would do the same if you could.

As far as our dream to meet Celine, just because we haven't had that amazing opportunity doesn't mean we're not trying hard to accomplish it!!! If I was stupid enough to max out all my credit cards I could go to several Celine shows a month and beg for front row too, still doesn't mean I will get to meet her. It's just the luck of the draw!!

Since you've brought me up specifically let's talk about me specifically for a second-

Let's get one thing straight. I never said how unfair it was. I said I was heartbroken that we didn't get to meet her at Oprah. That's it. Everyone else blew that crap out of proportion. That was everyone else taking it and running it into the ground. I'm not going to get into the Oprah thing again because yep, I am extremely lucky and blessed. I know that and I have NEVER said otherwise. I count my blessings daily. I have been very very blessed in my Celine adventures. I have loved every second of it. I asked Oprah to bring me to Chicago and she did. I never expected anything else, everyone else said "you'll meet her, you'll meet her you'll meet her." I am the first one to tell you I told them, "well I don't know, I'm just happy to have a seat in the audience." Now that is the truth.

I probably will meet her soon. I know in my heart I will at some point in my life. Laugh if you want, but I know it to be true. You can say I'm presumptuous but whatever- I know it has to happen as much as I know my own heart. But you know what? I won't believe it until it happens. Until they take me to her. I am the FIRST one to stay grounded and say, "Oh well if it happens it happens, if it doesn't, I'm having a GREAT time." THAT is the truth. I believe that with my whole heart. Every ounce of me believes in this. I am having the time of my life. If I meet her it would be a dream come true. If I don't meet her I have something very incredible to look forward to in meeting her someday. THIS is what life's about. Meeting Celine is not what life's about. It will be a breath of fresh air. Like FINALLY. But then you dream bigger dreams. And you go forward.

It's so true. So many people complain and whine behind their computers bc that's the easiest thing to do. I didn't say you Claudette or anyone specifically. There are SO many.

Damn straight I know I'm lucky. I can't even begin to tell you how surprised I am at my own luck. But then again, I had a hand in it. I did what I could, I left it up to God and the powers that be, and sometimes things work out beyond your wildest dreams and sometimes God says no. I'm thankful for all the experiences I have had. I have ZERO connections and as you say I am one of the luckiest people here. Anyone can do it if they set their mind to it and make a plan. Just bc I live in the USA means little. The only advantage I have is a shorter cheaper flight and no visa. If the tables were turned and she were in Afghanistan, I would be doing the exact same thing. I might not be able to go as often but I would be trying twice as hard. I'm not talking to anyone at all here in particular.

I don't understand Claudette how your feelings toward me have changed so much. We were actually quite good friends up until recently but now I have some kind of beam in my eye and live in a butterfly world and have the ego of Charlie Sheen.

So over this. It's ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. I only continue to try to reason with you all bc I care. I don't want anyone to have bad feelings towards me at all. It hurts me greatly. very much.

Ignore that silly petition, not fuel the fire, and it will go away. I mean....no petition can shut down the forum so it's pointless, isn't it, to even try to start a petition. The only thing those people can do is fuel a small amount of negativity. And it's just going to be the same people anyway. Even though I feel like ripping my hair out at any given moment recently about certain incidents and fans/people, it's not about the forum. It's about those individuals. This just happens to be where they go crazy go nuts publicly.

The petition thing was some moronic attempt at a retaliation, that I saw on Facebook. I mentioned it because people were being called on for expressing negativity, yet, the person calling them on it was being equally negative by thinking it was a great idea to make a petition. To be honest, all this happened ages ago, and is being brought back up, and it's silly to go over and over it again. Peace out.
