HELP U! How can I do a GOOD bootleg? / Comment BIEN enregistrer le show?

Hello,

 

I will attend Celine's show in Paris Bercy next tuesday. As a member of this forum for a couple of year, I always enjoy to hear bootlegs did by others fans, now it's my turn to go to a concert and I'd like to do a bootleg for this forum. I have several questions concerning it...

> I have a Olympus pearlcorder S711 microcassette recorder with 2 MC60 (60 minutes) tapes, is it a good product to do a bootleg?

> Where can I put the recorder during the show? I thought it would be a good idea to put it on the floor, because if i keep it on myself, everytime I will move, the noise will be annoying. But maybe on the floor there are too many vibration??

> How can I record it from the microtape to the computer???

 

Hope to have answers! I will try to put the recorder in my shoes to enter into the stadium!

Except if we are authorised to take it with us??

Je serai au show de Celine à Paris Bercy mardi prochain. En tant que membre de ce forum depuis déjà quelques années, j'adore toujours écouter des bootlegs faits pas d'autres fans, maintenant c'est mon tour d'aller à un concert et j'aimerais l'enregistrer pour le forum. J'ai plusieurs questions concernant la façon de le faire...

J'espère que j'aurais des réponses! Je vais essayer de cacher le dictaphone dans mes chaussures pour entrer ;-)

I suggest an Olympus Digital voice recorder. A high quality EP one, too.

 

I've recorded concerts from Streisand to Lavigne on mine and they always turn out great.

A good recorder is one question but what about the venue itself??

 

We've seen in Antwerpen there were no controls AT ALL - you could sneak in whatever you wanted and use it in the venue! I think there were even seme fans with professional cameras on Friday night! Noone bothered about photos, recordings and so on...

 

But how is it in Bercy? I've heard they are very strict there...

And if they have a metal detectors at the entrances, I doubt it will be really possible to sneak stuff in...

 

Any info from fans who has already attended shows in Bercy would be more than appreciated!

An Olympus digital voice recorder is completely made of plastic. I went to Barbra Streisand's concert in Chicago where security was TIGHT---metal detectors, etc.

It is smaller than a cell phone and could be disguised as one. You'll be fine.

I know the Olympus recorders (at least I'm familiar with DS50 and with some smaller models). I own an another recorder which cover is also made of plastic but there are obviously metal pices inside it, I recon. I've never seen any electronic device made only off plastic... So that's why I'm interested about the security level in Bercy, esp. concerning the metal detectors which are used in some venues.

No matter how tight the security is. It's possible to sneak DC and recorder inside. I've did it in A New Day, maybe the tightest show. So anything is possible.

 

For Taking Chances tour in China, I bring HD cam inside, my friend even bring a tripod inside.
