when you feel pain...

It's encouraging to read everyone's posts, and know that I am not the only one who feels this way about Celine. The best way to describe Celine for me is that she is the one constant in my life. Even though life changes, we lose people we love, we travel to new places, change jobs, friends, school, etc..Celine is there through her music and presence. She's probably one of the only, if not the only, celebrities who has not changed who they are because of fame. The music industry and the world may change, and Celine will create new songs, do different tours, change her clothes etc...but as a person she is always the same. What a comfort to have someone like that in one's life, even if they aren't "truly" there.

Thank God for Celine Dion!

i remember like 10 years back... that one specific time listening to "immortality" was cathartic

Céline's music can ALWAYS make me feel better, no matter what.....whenever I'm not feeling to great, I just pop in any Céline song and immediately I feel my spirits lifted, it is instantaneous, I just cant continue to feel down while surrounded by so much energy and passion, its impossible.

And the person that Céline is........she is delightful!! It is such a pleasure to know of someone like her, she is a great example of how to be passionate about you do with your life!

She is so much more than just a singer, and that's what some 'people' dont understand, she is grounded, humble and warm....she always has a moment to spare for a fan. She is simply.....a GREAT woman, one that I admire tremendously for not only her talent but for the person that she is.

So here is my advice to anyone who is feeling a little blue: take two Céline cd's and call me in the morning.......the World's best cure.

Celine and her music always bring me sunshine on a rainy day and I am grateful for it. Its like a true friend who is always there. Her music means the world to me and I dont know what I would do without it.

My special songs are: I surrender, The first time ever I saw your face, S'il suffisait d'aimer, Think Twice and A new day has come

To me She is everything . Not only her songs lift me up when I'm down but also I use them as a mean to mend the others' broken hearts , and belive me it really works ! Even for those who are not Celine's fans ! you just need to know which song to choose for different moods and personalities ! I call it "Celine therapy" ! Try it once !

BTW . The most impressing song which lift my spirite up is That's The Way It Is

I agree, "That's the Way It Is" is the most uplifting. It's hard to choose a favorite song because they are all so special, but TTWII is on the top of my list. I wish she would perform it live during the tour.

For me the most upliftings songs are That's the way it is ,I'm alive and also One heart.

and sometimes when I feel sad I listen to Come to me it is like god is talking to me through that song.

also I'm your angel and fade away are great too

Ooh yeah, I'm Your Angel has definitely always inspired me. Just all the inspirational ones, there are so many. Just listening to Celine tonight is helping...it's making me happier and less stressed, plus she made my cockatiel fall asleep, so she's finally quiet and not annoying me!

It's for sure that Celine is the biggest gift that god gave to me , I remember 6 years and a half ago that I just discoverd Celine. I had a journey with her so far and fun and sometimes heartbreaking, for sometime Celine became me ,I was looking at her like i was watching myself,I loved her in place of myself and her life became mine, she was the hapiess of me .I went through and obsession and back,I really don't know how to describe the impact of Celine in my life but all I know is that I can't live without her,she is part of me and I love her,her voice is music to me even when she talks, some times even with listening to her interviews and her talking I feel relax and happy

I think I was 8 maybe 9, My parents fought, but whose don’t, right? It was bad, and sad. I was never the arguer. I hate yelling. I hate anger and confrontation. I hate pain and I hate hurting. Even at a young age, children know and children feel. Children hear and children see. They would fight and I would just retreat to my bedroom.

I had a cassette tape of Celine's “Let’s Talk About Love” album. And I had a cassette tape player… and it began.

I would crawl into the floor where the player was. Laying on my belly, chin to the floor, one ear to a speaker, and the other covered with my hand. I wanted the music to go in one ear and to stay forever. It was ideal for drowning out the fighting. It was comfort. It was stability. It was happiness and love. It was everything I needed as that small child, all wrapped up in beautiful music, sensational voice, and a deep heart that I would only grow to love beyond boundaries. I fell asleep to it, I prayed to it. I dried my tears to it and I thrived for it.

I even got to my knees one day and begged God to let me meet Celine. At that age I had no comprehension of how big the world was, much less of how big of a wish I was making. I wanted to connect that single moment with the ones that I was growing up and healing to. I wanted to thank her for being there when she didn’t even know I was needing her.

I had a big yellow chair. It was one of our old recliners and when there was no room for it, I begged to put it in my room. I stuck it in the corner and when I stood at the very top of the headrest I could reach above the top of the window. I felt like I was above everything and anything that always brought me down.I would sing the background part to the song “Let’s Talk About Love”, pretending that I was one of the background children singing in the recording.

Ten or eleven years, a divorce, and 3 moves later, I can hardly remember my own dad, yet these memories from my childhood remain so vivid. Celine put her heart into every note she sang and recorded; and it showed to those of us who were looking for and needing it.

As I grew up, Celine’s music stayed with me. It was there through the divorce... ironically perfect enough to drown out my sobbing. It was there through high school and most importantly it was there through the time where I got stuck in sexual abuse at age 17. He was my youth leader.

I became close to him and his wife. I started watching their little boy and staying with them constantly. I graduated high school in May of 2005 at age 17. My present from them was to fly to Vegas and see CELINE! I turned 18 on July 22nd, and his wife and I attended the concert on July 23rd.

There I sat in the back row of the top mezzanine. She sang... and tears fell. No, actually, they poured. This voice that had always came to me through a radio or speaker was coming to me live. The feeling of strength and stability built me up and restored me more than humanly fathomable. Three hours later it was over. It was gone. I sat there, almost catatonically. I stared at the empty stage, laughing, crying, smiling, and in utter disbelief of what I had just experienced. Walking out of the coliseum, I felt a mixture of emotions that I still can’t place in order till this day. But completeness and pure, genuine happiness was among them and I had searched for that joy all my life.

Returning home, the man of the couple that I had been staying with informed me that my Vegas/Celine trip was just the beginning. Basically he felt he deserved something because of the great dream he had made come true for me. The entire ordeal was a set up to make me feel as if I was indebted to him. And he was only interested in one thing. From that moment on he forced his way on me for a year and a half.

I came out of it one tenth of the person I was when I came out of that coliseum. He stripped it all from me. I was basically a walking skeleton numb to any and all emotion. Everything that built me up that day was gone in no time. That experience that was so special was now stained with filth and unethical reasoning...

Yet, the day I packed my car and finally mustered up the courage to run from it all, I rolled the windows down, cranked Celine and cried my eyes out the whole way home to somewhere safe. And that ride began my quest to build myself up again. I wasn’t going to do it alone though, Celine was still yet to know about me but she would be with me the whole journey, just as she always had been.

July 2008 marked two years since I had returned home from “the situation”. I paint now; it’s an emotional and therapeutic release. Celine is there with me each time. She’s there in the car when I travel, she’s there in my head when I pray, and she’s there in my heart when I live… everyday. And I love her more and more with each of these passing days, just as all of us do.

Everyone knows now that I have this thing for Celine. They think it’s funny or cute. But no one really knows the whole story. Well, that is until now. Whoever you are, you know. I wish Celine could know because she’s part of the reason I made it through the storm. Ya know, God put that cassette tape in my possession all those years ago for a reason. He created me strong enough to with-hold the pain that was coming, but he made Celine my backbone. :shy: :in_love: :in_love: :in_love:

For me, the one song that brings me the most comfort in the darkest of times is Stand By Your Side.

The first time I heard this song I broke down in tears and cried. I replayed it over and over and over again.

No matter how down, depressed, hopeless I feel, this song, the music, the lyrics, her gentle voice, fills me with the overwhelming sense of security, comfort, warmth, love, hope to get me through even the worse of times.

No matter how excruciatingly lonely life gets, these simple lyrics:

Gonna stand by your side now

Let me kiss all your tears away

You can stay in my arms now

And I know I can make you believe again

Give me the strength to hang on, and believe that there is someone who will stand by my side, no matter what. Kiss every tear that falls from my eyes away. Holds me so tightly in their arms, engulfing me in love, trust and safety and makes me believe that there are things in life worth hanging on for.

Celine's music always helps me whenever I listen to it. Her voice is so soothing and it transports me to another world. My favorite song is My Heart Will go On and not because I have had a special experience with the song it just helps me cope in every day life. Not to mention the movie Titanic which is so positive in so many ways because of the way Jack helps Rose and frees her and she gets to have a life that she wouldn't have had being married to Cal. I burned discs from my itunes playlist for my sister and whenever her kids and husband are hurrying around and hectic she puts on the miracle CD and everybody kind of calms down. She has commented to me that there is an angelic quality in Celine's voice.
