smw Posted May 15, 2008 at 04:39 PM Posted May 15, 2008 at 04:39 PM (edited) I've got to say - I'm not too thrilled with the song choices on the world tour. I am happy to see older gems like "All By Myself" and "Think Twice" - but I am SO sick of the lipped "It's All Coming Back To Me Now", "The Power of Love", "To Love You More", "I Drove All Night", and "My Heart Will Go On". I understand that people expect to hear those songs - but I'd much rather hear live versions of other songs. With the French set list - I am just as unhappy. I am happy to hear SOME songs - but it's basically the Let's Talk About Love French set list with a couple of new ones. She has an unbelievable catalog of songs. Why not pull out of few of those songs??? Edited May 15, 2008 at 04:43 PM by smw Quote

fred Posted May 15, 2008 at 07:41 PM Posted May 15, 2008 at 07:41 PM Yea I hear ya, I made it clear right from the start what I think about this setlist. I would like to add I Am Your Angel to that list of yours, Love Can Move Mountains aswell (if it ain't given a new approach). It's one big yawnfest from beginning to the end. Some songs lift the concert up - Think Twice, Fade Away, My Love, The Show Must Go On - but they can't carry up the oh so heavy wight of the ones which shouldn't be there. And again - "taking chances", she couldn't play it anymore safe than with this setlist. I have to disagree on All By Myself though, it has been dragged along in two tours already, this being the third. And it fit like a glove on the FIY tour, in the LTAL tour it was like and old glove hanging around since it was so nice when it was new. Now it's just old, not even old enough to be a nice antiquite - just old. And I'd rather have it move over to the side and leave space for others, plus it is far too voice straining to be there "just because". And as much as I love PQTME and it being her greatest French hit and all, I mean common, what the heck, what is the point in taking nice tracks then shut them down the throat of the audience that they regret they ever though it was nice to begin with (MHWGO perfect example)(I am however oh so glad J'irai Ou Tu Iras didn't make it to the English leg!). She should take this opportunity to introduce her French reportoir to her English audience with another track now, she has numerous to choose from. And the French set list? Is it revealed? /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
Céline's Blues Posted May 15, 2008 at 07:43 PM Posted May 15, 2008 at 07:43 PM French set list could be better, could be...but what for? Believe me you have never heard her singing her songs like that. Never ever, smw. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
Hilda Posted May 15, 2008 at 08:41 PM Posted May 15, 2008 at 08:41 PM can u imagine if she got 'terre' out on the english legs!!! uh!!! that would shake um up a bit!! Quote
CelineAndRene Posted May 15, 2008 at 10:19 PM Posted May 15, 2008 at 10:19 PM I wouldn't mind hearing "TTWII" Quote "...It's the circle of life. You gotta look forward. Two days during the year there's nothing you can do about: yesterday and tomorrow. Today is a great day." - Celine Dion, People.
Alex_Incognito Posted May 16, 2008 at 12:12 AM Posted May 16, 2008 at 12:12 AM While I LOVE the French songs she has on the tour---what the hell happened to D'ELLES? It's like it never happened! Where's "Je cherche l'ombre", "Immensite", "A cause". And 1 FILLE ET 4 TYPES:Ne bouge pas, Contre nature, Mon homme It's too much like the LTAL tour. smw Posted May 16, 2008 at 01:13 AM Author Posted May 16, 2008 at 01:13 AM (edited) I completely agree about D'elles and 1F&4T. Honestly, I would be happiest if ALL the songs in her French shows were from those two albums with the exception of 2 or 3 classics. As far as All By Myself - I agree that it did not fit in the Let's Talk About Love tour, nor did The Power of Love. But like I said - people expect The Power of Love. I feel as though it is a nice addition of the Taking Chances show - because it is THE power ballad of the entire show. And it is the BIG vocal show off song. Other than I Surrender, I'm not sure what other song could take it's place from her English catalog. ...and the Queen tribute has GOT to go. She can mention how much she admires them, then sing The Show Must Go On, but that should end it right there. Then, replace We Will Rock You with something from her own catalog or something completely unexpected. Edited May 16, 2008 at 01:15 AM by smw Quote
woodstock Posted May 16, 2008 at 05:32 AM Posted May 16, 2008 at 05:32 AM (edited) I've always dreamed of hearing Celine singing her early english hits again. It seems she forgot she sang huge songs like "Any Other Way" or "Unison". They really were catchy songs and they could still work on stage, I'm sure of that. I remind she once said she got sick of singing "Where does my heart beat now" on stage. Isn't she sick of performing "Power of Love" now? It's been almost 15 years now she's singing that song each night... Edited May 16, 2008 at 05:33 AM by woodstock Quote
aicee Posted May 16, 2008 at 06:31 AM Posted May 16, 2008 at 06:31 AM I think the Team is mixing the old ones to the new songs. In order to promote the Fresh and Hot Celine. LOl Quote

fred Posted May 16, 2008 at 12:13 PM Posted May 16, 2008 at 12:13 PM The French setlist is as booring as the English one, if not even more booring. I surely did expect something better when they screw up so totally on the English one. I expected it to be all French songs than one maybe two at most English songs in the French setlist. I mean if there's gonna be two DVD's (which there prob wont, coz we're used to get screwed) they will be not too different. And I mean common, will the lipped version of IACBTMN then occur on 2 DVD's?!(AND LIL + the supposed English version of this tour DVD) Then the most blindfolded Stepfordian will be forced to admit it's lipped. Same goes for MHWGO, and last but certainly not least TPOL which has this lipped version now already on at least 4 previous releases (LIM,ACDS,TAST CBS SPECIAL, AND LIL) plus these two (?), they are serving her downfall on a silver platter to the critics... And yea, like someone mentioned I surely excpected the French leg to be mostly about 1F&4T and D'Elles, and a few others. But common, what's this came they are playing?! They live in the past as always and only allow a few of the current songs into the setlist. Same at English, where's One Heart album (besides IDAN) - where's ANDHC album (besides IA)?!?! It's a disgrace. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
Davey84 Posted May 16, 2008 at 12:59 PM Posted May 16, 2008 at 12:59 PM well I am happy that I didn't have to listen to BYLM/IACBTMN/TLYM in Antwerp... but I do agree that every album since LTAL has been neglected It's a pity that she sang 8 songs from D'Eux and SISDA, I love these songs, don't get me wrong, but I would have loved it even more if it were 8 songs from 1F4T and D'elles and only 2 songs from D'eux and SISDA... BUTTTT MHWGO is amazing!!! I thought it really was one of the highlights of the evening! It's 100000 times better then in Vegas! It's truely awesome!! CellyDee87 Posted May 16, 2008 at 02:38 PM Posted May 16, 2008 at 02:38 PM I have to say I was quite happy with the set-list largely due to the fact that it was the first time I saw her live (I came for the hits). I think the set-list is good for those who didn't get a chance to see AND in Vegas, I would have been disappointed if IACBTMN was omitted for example, but they'll always be somebody who is unhappy either way, but I think they did a good job at catering for a broader Celine fan base though All By Myself was absolutely AMAZING. I would LOVE to see Where Does My Heart Beat Now added to the list Quote
