latin america is ignoring celine's music, so an all-spanish album is quite impossible.

That is true (there aren´t a lot of fans here in LatinAmerica), but Celine doesn´t speak spanish Ana! She only has recorded few songs....

She tried learning Spanish during her pause between ALL THE WAY and A NEW DAY HAS COME, but, like many of us, when we're on break it's hard to finish certain projects.

By the way, she only sings phonetically,....oh, yes, and she knows how to say "muchas gracias", that's an accomplishment!!!

:D Its funny to find today this thread. Yesterday I was just reading some news archive of 2002, when Céline Dion said this about the spanish song included in the album and her performance for the Latin Billboard of Aún Existe Amor:

1) Céline Dion in Madrid, Spain, on 16 april 2002:

Interview in Hola

“Estoy muy contenta. Yo creo que es un idioma precioso y un idioma importantísimo en el mundo. Así que quiero aprenderlo, y en unos meses más estudiando, podré grabar algún otro tema en español. Pero tengo ganas de estudiar antes el idioma”.

Translation: "I'm very pleased. I think its a precious language and its very important in the world. So I want to learn it, and after some months studying it, I will be able to record some other songs in spanish. But I have to study the language before".

2) Latin Billboard Awards 2002, she performed with great welcome Aún Existe Amor:

Between latin stars, a canadian star has specially brighten in Miami Beach, the night of the Latin Billboards. The big Céline Dion has made her first appeareance in a latin show and has shown her talent to the audience of spanish speaking language. She received a special award as a tribute to her career, and speaking in spanish (who has the video/audio of that?? ) she thanked the audience before the start of "Aún Existe Amor".

"The spanish language its such a beautiful language to speak, and even more to sing" she said. "I want to learn it to be more close of this market".

 Ok, thanks Céline, but we are waiting!

On June, the spanish song was included as a b-side on the I'm Alive european cd single, so they had dood intentions with this objetive...

3) Some days after the spanish performance in Latin Billboards, some brazilian sources announced that Céline Dion would record a spanish version of A New Day Has Come for a latin soap opera, "Vale Todo". Céline stated that she was very happy to do that collaboration and that it would help her to introduce her career more in the latin market"

We don't know anything yet of that spanish version, either as for ¿Sabes Cómo Es El Amor?, spanish version of HYEBIL

4) On september 2002 she records What More Can I Give with Michael Jackson and other singers, and also sings in the spanish version of the song...

Well, we all know what happened with this story -_- Now, 6 years after, we have seen Shakira, Christina Aguilera and even Beyoncé conquer the world with their spanish songs, while Céline let this chance pass. She told many things, and when she appeared to enter the latin market in the Billboard Latino awards, she closed that door without an explanation. She lost a big chance then!

Now she has included a performance in her world tour, "Flamenco gitano", which shows spanish words in the screens while they dance. Why to do that when SHE can sing perfectly a beautiful song in spanish and steal the show??. I can't understand anything on this :glare:

Calma ,calma Gonzalillo, te va a hacer mal !!!

We're all full of frustrations and huge expectations on this subject, but it's not healthy to worry that much.

I'm sure the day will come...when? that's a different question

i have a dream of coming to south america and performing

sola otra vez (powerfull)

or

aun existe amor

and THE GIRL FROM IPANEMA hahaha

she said on an interview she loved the song too

(but who knows..sometimes is just fake words)

but i guess she could have a good success.

THE FACT THAT SONY AND CELINE STAFF INGORE LATIN FANS, WITH NO PROJECT

TOUR, SPECIAL INTERVIEW,

MAKE OUR MIDIA (PRINT PRESS, TV SHOWS.., RADIOS) KINDA IGNORE HER TOO.

theres problem between two sides on this relationship...

CELINE SHOULD REALLY INVEST HERE, TO SAVE HER IMAGE..

Couldn't agree more with you Bruno. Beisdes, I feel she has a huge fan database in Brazil, so she definetely should make a song in portuguese. (not "The girl from ipanema" please)

Maybe records don't sell that well here, but with good promotion...STADIUMS WOULD BE LOADED WITH FANS.

I'm sure that the Maracana or River Plate's stadium would colapse.

justa dream though

obrigado

boa tarde
