Dino M Posted May 9, 2008 at 10:07 PM Posted May 9, 2008 at 10:07 PM My wife wants to read Celine's biography, but when you look on somewhere like Amazon there are loads of different books about her life. The one that seems to stand out is Celine Dion: My Story, My Dream but I would like to know if this is the best book I can get her to read about Celine's life. If anybody on here can recommend the best book about Celine, as it would be appreciated. Thanks to anyone that can help. Quote

I read celine's "The Complete Biography" a few months ago and i really enjoyed that, it had lots of great picture, and i says alot about her whole life until December 1999* i would defo recomend this book but i actually haven't read any of her others so i couldn't be able to compare it with them x Quote I. Allie Posted May 9, 2008 at 10:36 PM Posted May 9, 2008 at 10:36 PM I haven't read any others other than My Story, My Dream, but that one was fantastic, I'd definitely recommend that one. Quote
KimboCosmo Posted May 9, 2008 at 11:02 PM Posted May 9, 2008 at 11:02 PM I would definately read "My Story, My Dream" or "For Keeps" before ANYTHING else... Cruisetan7 Posted May 9, 2008 at 11:12 PM Posted May 9, 2008 at 11:12 PM Yes I agree with Kimbo those two boooks are the best! Quote
Jacqui Posted May 9, 2008 at 11:40 PM Posted May 9, 2008 at 11:40 PM My Story My Dream is my favourite...it's pretty much the complete story of Celine's life up until a couple of years ago, plus it's romantic, inspirational, and put into her own words. For Keeps is awesome too, with all the rare stuff involved, very different from anything I've ever seen before. The Authorized Biography is great, but I found it more factual, a little less personal than the other two. nystrele Posted May 9, 2008 at 11:45 PM Posted May 9, 2008 at 11:45 PM yup, agreed... the best is "my story my dream," which is as close to an autobiography as we'll get. the author collaborated with celine and rene and is an insider... he also wrote "celine: the authorized biography" a few years earlier... essentially the same. of course, the best bio, if i might say so, is the one that i haven't yet written! ahem... xoxo=c= Quote

celinefanonline Posted May 10, 2008 at 03:26 AM Posted May 10, 2008 at 03:26 AM i think you guys forgot the one released in 1998 the authorized biography Celine!! this one it's pretty good too!! but yes My story my dream is more like personal Quote Courage don't you dare fail me now!
ashleylovesceline Posted May 10, 2008 at 03:51 AM Posted May 10, 2008 at 03:51 AM Definitely "For Keeps" and "My Story, My Dream" -- I've read the others, but those two are the best. "My Story, My Dream" is like Vol. One and "For Keeps" is Vol. Two! Anything you didn't read about in "My Story, My Dream" you read about in "For Keeps" - especially since the author, Jenna Glatzer asked the fans what they wanted to know, so we asked anything we didn't already know! xo1hrt4celineox Posted May 10, 2008 at 04:00 AM Posted May 10, 2008 at 04:00 AM I agree with the others, My Story, My Dream definitely has a personal feel and really gets into what she was thinking and feeling during throughout the different phases of her life. For Keeps is also a really great book, gives you tons of pics and little keepsakes are very nice touches that make it kind of like a Celine scrapbook. Would steer clear of most of the unauthorized stuff as it tends to get some facts wrong. Hope this helps, its very nice of you to do this for your wife. You definitely came to the right place!! aicee Posted May 10, 2008 at 06:10 AM Posted May 10, 2008 at 06:10 AM I would recommend for keeps to you. Quote
CellyDee87 Posted May 11, 2008 at 07:09 AM Posted May 11, 2008 at 07:09 AM My Story My Dream is a really fantastic in depth story about Celine coming into show business and her falling in love with Rene, but For Keeps really amazed me, I feel really privileged to own something like that with all the mementos and the photos just everything in there that shows how she's such a down to earth woman with her child being the center of her world. I would recommend both it's hard to chose a favourite Quote
Jules86 Posted May 11, 2008 at 01:51 PM Posted May 11, 2008 at 01:51 PM Yeh 'My Story, My Dream' is what i would buy. No doubt Quote
