to you, what is celine's most powerful song from the 80's?

what are some of your guy's favorites? when I say "powerful" in the title I'm referring to both technical power vs the emotion it brings out in you. And it'd be great if someone could list some of the most technically powerful songs by celine from that period as well :D

personally, d'amour ou d'amitie, tellement jai d'amour, c'est pour toi are my favorites from the few I've heard. though I admit I don't own any of work from the 80's so I don't know it as well..in fact I haven't heard most of it. what about you guys?

I think the quality of her voice in cest pour toi is amazing..and she was only 17 right? :ermm:

I liked "Incognito" :)

C'est pour vivre and La Religieuse are very powerful

Et la vie glisse sur l'eau du temps

La vie resiste, prend son elan

Pour un baiser elle peut se poser

Le temps qui compte est toujours compte

I've been trying to figure out how to get it for the longest time, as I'm not allowed to order online and I've never seen on ne change pas at any local record stores. however from samples I've heard the album version of le blues du businessman is extremely dissapointing :ermm: all of her live performances kick the studio version in the butt

I'm definitely checking out all the song reccomendations you guys gave

I think "Comment t'aimer" and "C'est pour toi" are the most powerful songs. Célinereally opens up her soul on those tracks and we feel the love that she had for René

well if you use "powerful" in terms of evoking extreme joy then...A quatre pas d'ici! I listen to this over and over and it never fails to make me all giddy, I think its very catchy :)

(I really need to listen to her early stuff more)

wow! I haven't heard the song you we're guys talking about here. I have some of her French album. I can't understand the song that's why I don't listen into it always. I only collect albums just like that.

The studio version is dissapointing? :o

ONCP is not rare at all, and all of her albums before Incognito is released only on LP. (Except "Du Soleil Au Coeur" which is on CD too, but not in all countries)

I am sure that you can go to a music store and ask if they can order it! It was released in the USA... so it should be no problem ;)

I agree on LBDB though... the live versions are much much better then the studio one!

'Comment t'aimer' is surely one of her most powerful songs. Also 'Mon reve de toujours'. And to make a Top 3...of course 'D'abord, c'est quoi l'amour'.
