Hello people! I'm just wondering if there's anybody in here who has the spoken words between songs in the A L'Olympia album. I just got it and love it, but I would like to know what is Celine talking about in that concert.

Sorry if there's already a topic like this, Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2:

Another question about the concert:

Is the videos of the show existed for the fans?

Sorry for my English.

I'll try to summarize:

After "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" she gives her introduction to the show. She gives her famous "I love to sing, by I love to talk to" speech. She mentions that she performed at the theatre before, but now headlining the show was amazing and she said that her parents told her that she will have finally "made it" when she performs at the Olympia. She says that her parents are in the audience and then goes on to introduce "L'amour existe encore."

On "Calling You" she talks about hearing a song for the first time and falling in love with it---and that she felt that way about that song from the movie.

Before "Elle" she introduces Eddie Marnay who wrote most of her early songs. She said she wanted to sing one of her favorite songs, and she performs it.

Before "Le Blues de Buisnessman" she talks of when she recorded the songs for STARMANIA. She then dedicates it to Berger.

Before "Le fils de superman" she talks about Luc Plamondon going to NYC and there being a young boy that jumped from a skyscraper because he thought he was Superman.

Before "Ziggy" she asks if it is okay that she sits.

And that's the general idea.

The concert WAS INDEED recorded for video as well---as some footage exists.

"Calling You" is an Academy Award nominated song from the Bagdad Café movie. Originally, it was recorded by Jevetta Steele. Bob Telson who wrote the song also recorded a version. Both appeared on the movie soundtrack in 1987.

I love this album a lot! it has wonderful songs on them like DMQS, LAEE andLFDS and also Elle, which Céline recorded for the C'est Pour Toi 1985 album... Céline's voice is really chrystal clear on this live recording :wub2:

WORDS SPOKEN BETWEEN THE SONGS

(Song Des mots qui sonnent)

Merci.

[Thank you.]

(Song Where does my heart beat now)

Merci! Bonsoir!

[Thank you! Good evening! Well you seem in a good mood! Good, listen! this is... our third evening at the Olympia... and I can tell you (that)... I’m enjoying every second of it because I’ve been looking forward to this moment for a long time.]

Popa, Moman.

[i came here (and sang for you), I remember (clearly), at the age of 16; therefore, it’s been almost 10 years to the day. I was 16 years old when I gave my first stage performance at the Olympia, for the opening act of Patrick Sebastien’s concert, and back then, my parents were here, with me. And my parents had said to me: "Céline, should the day ever come where you’ll be singing at the Olympia again,... (then) we’ll be there (with you)." Well my parents kept their word; my parents are (here) with us tonight. Dad, Mom.]

[Oh! you’re so kind. Listen! I also have to tell you that, yesterday before the concert,... Because I always feel nervous, when I’m on a TV show, when I perform on stage, when I give an interview, when I meet someone, I nearly always feel nervous, but I don’t often experience fear. And yesterday, to tell you the truth, I felt very afraid, because it was... we’ve never met! This is the first time we meet. So I was a little afraid. I’d say to myself: "I’ve performed on (this) stage before, but this time, I’ll be singing through the entire concert." But, I want to tell you how... how glad I am to be finally in Paris singing for you; this really does my heart good.]

Enfin! Merci.

[Anyway! I’m gonna tell you... I’m, I’m, I’m gonna stop talking because, really, I think I’m here to sing a few songs (for you), but... you didn’t know I also liked to talk, eh? Aaaah!. I’m a pretty talkative girl. Oh yes! Listen!... thank you so much for being here tonight, and I cross my fingers... I sincerely hope you’ll enjoy tonight’s performance. Thank you.]

[This next song was written by Luc Plamondon and Richard Cocciante.]

(Song L'amour existe encore)

(Song Je danse dans ma tête)

Merci.

[Thank you. You know,... every now and then... we fall in love with a song... we hear on the radio for the very first time... And, that’s exactly how I felt about this next song. I heard it and... I fell in love with it.]

(Song Calling you)

Merci beaucoup. Moi aussi, je vous aime. (rire)

[Thank you very much. I love you too. (chuckles)]

[At the age of 13, when,... when my recording career started (OU when I started singing), I was... fortunate enough to... meet... a great song writer... and... an extraordinary man,... Mr. Eddy Marnay, who is (here) with us tonight.]

[Eddy wrote all my first songs. This next song I’d like to sing (for you),... was set aside; it did not play on the radio. So, tonight,... I’d like you to hear it. This is one of my favorite songs... and it’s called "Elle".]

(Song Elle)

Merci beaucoup!

[Thank you very much!]

Starmania! (Medley Starmania)

[When I recorded the songs from Starmania, in... Michel Berger’s superb studio,.... (decorated) all in white,... oh yes!... I clearly remember (that)... Luc Plamondon and Michel kept telling me how much they were looking forward to... hearing me sing this next song... in Paris, here, on the stage of the Olympia. Well!... Michel,... tonight, I would like to sing it for you.]

(Song Le blues du businessman)

Merci Michel Berger! Merci Luc Plamondon!

[Thank you Michel Berger! Thank you Luc Plamondon!]

[One day, ... Luc Plamondon was in New York, and... there was a tragic accident,... this is a true story... of a little boy... a little boy who jumped... off a tower building, because he thought he was Superman... so Luc Plamondon wrote a song about it.]

(Song Le fils de Superman)

(Song Love can move mountains)

Merci beaucoup. Vous permettez que j’ m'assoies?

[Thank you very much. Do you mind if I sit?]

(Song The power of love)

Merci beaucoup! Bonsoir!

[Thank you very much! Good evening!]

(Song Quand on n'a que l'amour)
