amyja89 Posted April 29, 2008 at 07:42 PM Posted April 29, 2008 at 07:42 PM (edited) I'd have thought Shania's Up! would have been number one, being the biggest selling album from a female artist of all time. And yeah I agree, One Heart is a bit of a random discovery! Edited April 29, 2008 at 07:43 PM by amyja89 Quote

Sorry Amy, but Up! isn't the biggest selling album by a female.... Come On Over is Anyway, wish Celine could have squeezed into the Top 10, but #11 is a great feat Quote
WaterFromTheMoon Posted April 29, 2008 at 07:55 PM Posted April 29, 2008 at 07:55 PM (edited) that One Heart appears on that list is a mircale *lol* Edited April 29, 2008 at 07:55 PM by WaterFromTheMoon Quote

grobandion Posted April 29, 2008 at 10:10 PM Posted April 29, 2008 at 10:10 PM Off course "Taking Chances" isn't on the list. It debuted on number 3 back in November, and sold what, four copies? Quote

Black Kitten Posted April 30, 2008 at 02:20 AM Posted April 30, 2008 at 02:20 AM i guess shania twain's UP!'s sale is x2 as it is a double cd and its length is more than 100 minutes. it was certified diamond though it has sold just 5M copies is america. what a very smart decision for shania to have 3 diamond albums. rhaps Posted April 30, 2008 at 03:02 AM Posted April 30, 2008 at 03:02 AM it was really a surprise seeing one heart on the list, but hey, i do love the album...if it was just supported well with singles & videos...it would sell a little more. Quote
Bellamy Posted April 30, 2008 at 03:29 AM Posted April 30, 2008 at 03:29 AM You can see almost all of the top debut albums were released after Y2K. The best selling albums released in the 90s don't have too high debut, but they are long time sellers. The albums released after Y2K tend to have big debut, then sales would drop down very fast. Why do sales drop very rapidly? Do they have to do with MP3? Quote

marc-02 Posted May 3, 2008 at 01:12 AM Posted May 3, 2008 at 01:12 AM I don't think I will ever get the rationale behind an album with two disc being counted as two... if that's the case why dont celine just extend each of her album a coupld more minuted\s longer nad split the set into two discs.. voila... if for ANDHC she did that and 500+ thousand copies sold/people bought the album then that would easily become 1M if soundscan tracks the figures! One disc, two disc, three or gazillion disc... if it appears as one set, they should only count it as one... because physically, only a certain number of people bought something but then they are multiplied just because they bought something a little more expensive or runs a little longer... what's the difference? That's why I'm really not as impressed with Shania's sales as with Celine's... Quote
