A Request To A Local Radio Station...

Hey all,

 

I recently took the time to shoot off an e-mail to one of my local radio DJ's here in Sonoma County regarding the song, "Fade Away." Her name is Jacqui and I'd like to think she's the one responsible for getting "Taking Chances" to #1 in the Wine Country.

 

Anyway, here's the e-mail I sent to her a few minutes ago.

 

Hi Jacqui,

 

How are you? Good I hope!

 

First, I want to say how happy I am that KZST has given Celine Dion's single, "Taking Chances," such great amounts of airplay. I was very pleased when I noticed on your station's website that it is now currently the #1 song KZST!

 

Secondly, the reason I am writing you is to make a request. I don't exactly know how the single selection process is done through various record labels, radio stations, etc. so please forgive me if this comes across as a bit naive. I am requesting that Celine Dion's song, "Fade Away," from her recent album, Taking Chances become a single to radio. The song's positive message, rockin' melody, and fierce vocals are what people would not expect from the Canadian-born singer. I am aware that Sony is currently in the process of promoting her cover to Heart's song, "Alone." However, I believe that releasing "Fade Away" would showcase a singer truly "taking chances" much more than promoting a cover to a song that is still played regularly on various stations around the country.

I doubt anything will come of this, but I figure I'd write the e-mail if for no other reason than to know I did it.

My fingers are crossed also. At least they are playing tracks from Taking Chances there, here in Australia I've heard absolutely nothing at all. I saw a couple of adds for the concert way back but that's it I've heard no radio play or promo. What a disappointment . At least it's going better in the US, I hope you hear Fade Away in the not to distant future!

I think their response will be that they can't play the song, and so anything about it because they don't have it... but I do hope it works!!
