Is there any new celine artist?

Lara Fabian: she has an incredible voice, but she is almost the same age, 38 now, so she is definitely not a new diva, but already is a diva. She is on maternity leave now, gave birth to her daughter last November, but has some live performances during spring in Europe.

 

Delta is definitely a diva-to-be. I have her first 2 albums. Her early fight around the age of 20 with non-Hodgkin lymphoma gives her lyrics a certain maturity and spirituality. I think she is looking forward to a great present and future.

i dont think we have seen a young Celine yet.....her voice is so special.

lara i think has been in celines shadow certainly internationally but she is a superb singer in her own right also.

in french music i have always loved Sandrine Francois lovely soft tone ...and Isabelle Boulay ..to me she is like a modern day french dusty springfield an exceptional performer!!

Yes exactly "Together We Are One" is such a younger Celine. Delta's voice, demeanor and style is so much like Celine's who I believe was a huge inspiration and role model when she began to sing. Don't get me wrong Celine for me will always be my favourite artist by far, but there's something special about Delta and the fact that she writes her songs.

 

Imagine if Celine's next album had some more Delta collaborations like the magic of "Eyes on Me" we'd hopefully see her have some more hits without losing our "original/traditional" Celine. Unlike what's happened with that trashy "Touch My Body" of Mariah's. I know it's not all about the hits but I'd love to everybody caught up in Celine hysteria again

I think that there isn't a new Celine and will never be. And it's normal. Everyone's unique. Yes, some artists may have a few similarities but it's not enough to say that it's the new Celine or Mariah, or whoever it is.

The topic was "NEW Celine artist" [READ "Celine-like"] So we're attempting to draw comparisons from newer vocalists to Celine, which would mean that your line of thinking is completely off base.

 

We're all comparing the Celine we know RIGHT NOW to newbies in the business, which is an unfair comparison. Think back to the beginnings of Celine's career, and let's compare some of the newer vocalists out there, then it would be a "fair" comparison.

 

There are only a few gals out there, that given what we know of their talent today, could be compared...

 

Leona Lewis: Take a listen to her latest single. I had been given her album from the UK months ago and never really listened to it, but after seeing her on TV last week, I took a listen, and she's got awesome flare.

 

Laura Fabian: Someone already said she's been in Celine's shadows and sings with a certain passion that comes through in her live performances, especially. I personally don't care for her tone, but that's just me.

 

Delta Goodrem: Um, hello, she co-wrote EYES ON ME. LOL Look up her stuff. Tonight was the first I had even heard of her, and what little I found of her in my country's iTunes store and it's pretty good. She has a nice sound.

 

Christina Aguilera: She's got such powerful vocals, right? Isn't that what made Celine so noticeable back then?

 

These gals are by all means not an all-inclusive list of today's singers that could or should be compared to our Celine. Nor are they in any order whatsoever. LOL I merely did a little... um, what's it called again? OH! RESEARCH! Something that a lot of others appear to not be doing PRIOR to posting, on this thread and on others.

 

Bottom line, the creator of the thread was wondering if anyone on here thought someone had the makings of "a diva", or if a new singer out there had a distinct sound that's recognizable. And yeah, there's a few out there... but will their labels try to create the next label? Is the world even wanting "diva-like" singers? Music has been moving away from that since the 90's, it seems.

 

Also, I understand other fans' passion regarding Celine and "not wanting a replacement", but we've gotta actually think about things in a realistic way. What divas were there before Celine? There were plenty. What divas will there be after Celine? Plenty. Their careers are starting up now... We just have known Celine for a while and some of us are biased fans, that's for sure! LOL

I do not think Laura is considered at the same level as Celine. Her English-language recording released during Celine's hiatus did not break through to the international stage, nor did they make that big of an impact here in the U.S.

 

[i can still remember being in a music store [hey, what are those again?! LOL] during the year 2000... I was going through Celine's section to look for something new, and wondered why they had so many copies of this Laura gal's albums nearby, out of alphabetical order. The manager saw me looking at the album [he was a huuuuge Celine fan, too] and came by, telling me that "she's supposed to be the next big thing". Well that was about 8 years ago, and I don't see anything BIG about LF.]

 

LF may be a "well established artist", but she is for sure not an international super star, or a top billing artist of diva proportions like our Celine. Who knows? Laura could come back after her baby and really do some damage and catapult herself onto the world's international market and take us all by storm? Doubt it, but who knows?
