I hate the way Aretha extends every song to 10 minutes. I think we'd consider it to be more recognizable if the sound quality was a little better. And the song only lasted for 5 minutes, so it's not like Aretha was turning this into another 'Divas Live' performance where she keeps the audience captive for a church sermon. LOL Aretha obviously 'made it her own', if I am going to be like an American Idol judge. LOL If she did it exactly like Celine did, then we'd be bashing her for that, too. There's no question that the woman has talent. Let her cover other people's music... she's in that point in her career where the new stuff doesn't come in as much, and if she can move an audience with the lyrics better than Celine did, then good for her. The song could've done better as a radio hit for Celine, we all know that... Just look at other singers who are in that area of their career... a lot of them tend to start using other people's material in their shows to add some flavor. Celine's doing it herself now! Patti LaBelle did it during her show that's on DVD now... her encore was all covers. I'm not upset by it, nor do I think Aretha is a bad performer for doing it. I can think logically about this and realize that the lyrics to the song are awesome and if she can make them work for her style, then good for her! "You go GIRL!" LOL Quote

I can't believe that this song made it to number 2 on the AC chart - but Taking Chances didn't. I am still in shock that the song got such low air play. I really wonder if the song will be re-released once she is touring a heavy amount in the U.S. I know that Pink's "Who Knew" originally was released a year before it became popular.
