amelie Posted May 24, 2008 at 11:01 PM Posted May 24, 2008 at 11:01 PM (edited) however the big surprise was that Greece got so high points - cheeesay cheesay cheeeeesay!!! Horrible to say the least. Armenia looks like a masterpiece compared to Greece./fred Hello??? its the EUROVISION song contest and no its not horrible its was better than most if not all the rest of also cheesy entries. Armenia was great but i don't see why you think its SO much better (apart from the vocals ) how could Greece come so high?!/fred simple...Greece rules btw could a mod change the country field from Cyprus to Greece? it was a typo lets say Celine should have competed with Eyes on me, she would win and Taking Chances would gain attention and last year with A cause Edited May 24, 2008 at 11:06 PM by amelie Quote
Nikosn17 Posted May 25, 2008 at 08:34 AM Posted May 25, 2008 at 08:34 AM Amelie, you're from Greece but that does not mean that everybody has to like this song. I also think it was not one of the best songs in the evening.I think Ukraine should have won. Quote
amelie Posted May 25, 2008 at 08:37 AM Posted May 25, 2008 at 08:37 AM (edited) i didn't say anyone HAS to like it...i just don't see how it is different from the rest of the cheesy pop songs that makes it HORRIBLE + obviously the public didn't find it horrible.. personally it wasn't even my favorite among the nominated greek entries and i didn't think it would make it in the top5 last night, i didn't think the history would repeat itself. Die for you #3, My number one #1, Shake it #3, My secret combination #3, there's a pattern there Edited May 25, 2008 at 08:43 AM by amelie Quote

Ray Posted May 25, 2008 at 03:42 PM Posted May 25, 2008 at 03:42 PM Although the Netherlands were out of the competition, I have to say it was a great year. I liked a lot of the songs. My favorite two: 1. Norway2. Iceland From the top ones, I hoped "My secret combination" by a Greek Britney Spears would win. It was better than Russia. (Although my husband who's favorites were also Norway and Iceland, liked Russia. He liked Greece a little bit better, but in his opinion Russia was good too.) But the song is repetative and cheap. Ther girl is sweet of course, but that's not the point. And I have nothing against Greece. I am a Swede darn it, all Swedes have been to Greece (except me ). And I still think Greece should had won 2001, and also 2006 - Anna Vissi's Everything was the best song of that competition. Happy? And Frida, I wasn't too thrilled about Björn, sure it was nice to see something different and someone who was actually being a fool on purpose (?) than all of those who just are. I still think the points should be dilivered with some sort of dignity, and Björn was greatly overrated when he first came out in Sweden, still is... Oh well, ok I guess, far from brilliant. /fred Edited May 25, 2008 at 07:29 PM by fred Quote Peace and love to all.

fred Posted May 25, 2008 at 07:33 PM Posted May 25, 2008 at 07:33 PM The girl couldn't sing, and when she hit the right notes it was only by luck. The song was quite slow, and even though it was a somewhat fine ballad, no one makes ballad like the east countries - Serbia's was wonderful. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
CelineDionx Posted May 25, 2008 at 07:38 PM Posted May 25, 2008 at 07:38 PM she could sing!!! ... cant even remember Serbia's one.. it obviously didnt have much of an impression on me! Quote http://melodyplant.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/celine-dion.jpg

fred Posted June 9, 2008 at 01:09 PM Posted June 9, 2008 at 01:09 PM I don't get it...why so many songs in English????Till not too long ago all countries had to sing in their native language. This was in favour of the UK and Ireland who sang in English which a lot of people understood and therefor could understand the meaning of the songs from UK and Ireland much better than from let's say Finland. That made they had a huge advantage, and they changed this a couple of years back so that it is up to each country to decide which language they wanna sing in so that it wont be unfair. Some countries even go as far as creating a whole new imaginary "language", as did Belgium this year. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
Davey84 Posted June 9, 2008 at 01:14 PM Posted June 9, 2008 at 01:14 PM belgium wasn't the first you know the netherlands had a group of 3 girls who did that too in 2006 I believe... and they didn't get to the finales... so Belgium should have learnt from that I dunno that rule kinda made it fair, but it also took away the essence of the Eurovision... just like the lack of a real orchestra Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th
