Birmingham is going to be quite special for me as I saw her perform there in the Symphony Hall the first time she played the UK, I think it was around 1995. Her support act was Martyn Joseph (a Welsh performer I followed from way back when I lived in Wales). I can remember her saying that she'd heard Birmingham was known for curries and she was going out for one after the show. Isn't it strange how little things stick in your mind? Anyway, that was the start of my 'Celine days' and I've followed ever since. I remember going home and telling my husband that she was going to be enormous and her voice had knocked me out. There I was walking my dogs, singing my head off to I'm alive on my Ipod, only just about heard my phone with a text from Wendy saying I'd won, was certainly very much alive after that. To think that I almost passed on seeing Céline in the UK Thank goodness I managed to "twist" Steve's arm on Boxing Day (26th December).
