I have a dog : TITANIC born on the day the movie came out in theaters and 2 cats: Cookie (she looks like one) ans Timoune (which means little love in La Reunion ! )

I have:

Valentine- a budgie- named because I got him on Valentine's Day, 3 years ago.

Ruby- a rabbit- she has beautiful big red eyes, like rubies.

Mistletoe, aka "Missy"- a cockatiel- I got her at the end of November, the same day I hung up the Mistletoe in our house.

Peter- a rabbit- named after my previous rabbits, Cottontail, and Cottontail Junior, who were named after Peter Cottontail (lol!)

 

I also have a fish, his name is Percy...just because I thought it'd be a funny name for a fish.

1 Fish: Vincent (Used to have two, Jules and Vincent named after John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction, but Jules died so now it's just Vincent!)

 

2 Cats: Benji and Berti (No story behind these names, they are brothers and were already named when we adopted them from a rescue center.)

I have a dog, golden retriever/lab mix. And her name is Mademuiselle (spelling) Coco Chanel, but she goes by Coco. She is fluffy and her fur is chocolate colored. That is why i named her Coco.

- Olly (black Exotic Shorthair)

- Coco (chocolate brown Persian)

- Sapphie (Siamese; full name: Sapphire Blue Ray of Light: as she has blue eyes and Madonna had just released her Ray of Light album)

 

one parrot:

- Bassey (exactly: named after Dame Shirley Bassey) He's an African Grey and can say a LOT!!!

 

lots of fish (in our pond)

 

three doves

 

lots of chickens:

- Brahma's (they are really gigantic, so we gave them royal names like Charlotte and Sissy)

- Zijdehoen krieltjes (after reading "Memoirs of a Geisha" we named them after characters in that book)

- Hollandse Sabelpootkrielen (we didn't name them)

(don't know the English names)

I use to have 2 cats, 6 kittens, 2 rabbits, 8 baby rabbits, 2 oscar fishes, a few smaller fish, 12 goldfishes, 4 pigeons, 4 parrots and a turtle..haha..I love them!! But I let all of it go since me and my family had to move..

You have two chow chows? Do you still have them? I have two chow chows too. Both female, Nala and Lilo (my dad has a male called Simba, so I stuck with the Disney theme ) My dad got his as a present, and ever since then I just fell in love with the chow chow. I don't think I'll ever choose another dog again, they have great personalities (a bit stubborn though, but that makes me love them even more). They are just the cutest doggies ever!

 

Here is a pic: The one in the back is still a baby, so she is a bit smaller than the other one.

Your dogs are gorgeous.

 

Actually, when I posted about my pets, I lived in Costa Rica. The chow-chows I referred to have unfortunately passed away. But, my parents and sister have bought two others and they are gorgeous as well. The little one is a female called Gallah, and the male is called Benny. Here's a recent pic I took on my vacation:

I have a cat, she's going to be 7 months old on November 30th (on my birthday ) I named her Maï, and there are few reasons behind the name. She was born on April 30th, so the day before May, and May in French is "mai", so as a francophile, it made sense to name her Mai. Plus the moment i saw her, it seemed like the most suitable name for her out of all the names I had pictured. Actually her complete name is Mai Marie (after the French kitten Marie in the Disney movie ) but she goes simply by Maï.

I have a cairn terrier + two cats.

The dog, Tinka, is a six-year-old girl and I love her to bits, she's my little baby girl and I'm her mommy The cats are about 1,5 years. Boy Ninja and a girl Miina. I never was a cat person before, my reason to get the first cat was probably the worst ever - I had just broken up from my ex (who was allergic to cats) and I wanted to show him that I'll never take him back. So I got a cat Well, the cat grew on me and soon I wanted to get him a friend and so came Miina into our little family.

 

Before anyone asks, the dog and the cats are the best of friends. They sleep and play together as if they were all of the same species. Just adorable to watch

I used to have lots of hamsters and a cat named Kiti when I was a kid but not anymore. I miss having a pet. Animals are so cute.

My cat's fur is in ginger colour so I simply call him Ginger. My mother likes to joke that our dog is named after Cary Grant but I don't really know why she and my Grandma named him Cary.

Four years have passed and sadly our cats have died.

 

We have four new cats: Dolly, Pomo (Maine Coon), Trico (Maine Coon), Zafara (Siamese)

 

We have a dog: Zazu.

 

We don't have the doves anymore. (The neighbours complained.)

 

We still have our parrot, Bassey, and we still have our pond with fish.

We even have a lot of fish in the house now. We even have fish tanks in our bedroom.

Not only for fish, but also with shrimps. They are very cute!

 

We don't have that many chickens anymore.

We only have four small Cochin chickens: one male, three females.

Now that I went back to my country, I was happy to see that my parents are back in the animal mood, as there are a LOT more than there used to be when I left 4 and a half years ago. Now they have 6 siamese cats, 2 normal cats, 5 shnauzers, a crazy dachshund , a chihuahua, two chow chows, my parrot, a parakeet, and lots of fish.

So many animals, so great! It's wonderful when people take care and responsibility. Animals are cute, innocent creatures that love you without expecting that much in return.

I know! That's why I take pride in caring for my cats. No matter where I go, I always think of them and bring them something.
