At 1120 pm on a sunday ratings will be minor. It would have better on channel 4 at around 10pm like madonnas confessions tour.

 

 

Don't get me started!!

Some people on this board are never bloody happy....

 

This was the nearest slot they could get before Celine's arrival, on uk tv.

If you remember it was to be tomorrow night but they decided to air it just before she arrives in the uk to keep her profile high and fresh to coincide with the tour, and the digital release of Alone, the following week!

 

It will be promoted on bbc1 as I said....its just after the news and match of the day, and lets face it most kids are in bed but most adults are sitting infront of the tv chilling enjoying there last few hours before bed and work on a monday morning.

And those who really want to see it will stay up for it, its like anything else.....

Just be greatful its airing at all....sony have done a good job with this.

I actually want to hear what Céine has to say and that man loves the sound of his own voice too much. I really don't like him.

 

He'd also say something unflattering and then disguise it as a joke and try to be charming.

 

Jonathan Ross would not be a good idea.

 

Paul O'Grady might be more appropriate.

FNP would be so cool...but cause of the language barrier etc i dont think celine would get the british humour! i think she would get rather pissed off in this show! also i think they would do a few low blows in taking the pee pee out of celine....id like a really good tv show....wouldnt surprise me if she was like a guest judge on britains got talent...as she has formed a good working relationship with simon cowell lol

''Thats Just The Woman In Me'' Celine's CBS Special, will air on VH1 here in the uk on the 1st week of may, to tie in with the uk release of Alone and the uk leg of the tour also....

 

Still no word on what tv show she will appear on yet!

Today was the first day the "Sensational" TV commercial was broadcasted here in Holland....it will be on for about 3 weeks.

According to sky at 6.30 on Saturday night, VH1 will be showing the show but i'm nearly sure it said ' Justin Timberlake hosts the opening night - a show that marked the beginning of the diva's 3 year run in Vegas'.

LOVE her or loath her Celine Dion will celebrate the 20th anniversary of her famous Eurovision Song Contest victory on Wednesday a couple of days before the first of her two concert dates at the MEN Arena.

Back on April 30, 1988, the then little known French Canadian Dion took centre stage in Dublin with the song Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi(Don't Leave Without Me), which pipped 20 other countries, including the UK's Scott Fitzgerald singing Go(by one point), to bring her talents to the fore among European audiences. And 20 years on the most famous Eurovision success is once more back on the hoof with her world tour Taking Chances, which follows on from her five year residency at Las Vegas's, Caesars Palace, where it is estimated she pocketed more than £125 million for her performances.

 

Eurovision historian John Kennedy O'Connor explains her success: "Dion who had been singing since she was aged 12., had upset some quarters of the Swiss media when she entered the Swiss heats, especially as her song was co-written by Turkish composer Atilla Sereftug. But all doubts were dismissed when she appeared on stage at the Swiss final, sweeping away the opposition with the sheer power of her voice and stage presence. The bookies installed her as the pre-contest favourite."

 

According to O'Connor on stage in Dublin the song was a great hit, but her choice of costume consisting of long white gold trimmed jacket over a white puffball skirt "was much maligned".

He adds: "Although the song could not be described as the most original ever heard in the contest, it was performed with such vocal style and force that it was clear that the bookies were right in making it the one to beat."

 

While she was on stage in Las Vegas the former Eurovision winner had a host of unlikely fans including Prince who saw her show three times, Justin Timberlake, Ice-T and Britney Spiers.

 

Dion is one of 14 children, her father was a lumberjack and they sang folkie little songs in their own family group around Quebec. At 12, she was signed by manager Rene Angelil, who was then on his second marriage. It had been dissolved by the time she sang for Switzerland in 1988 aged 20. He was 26 years older than her, but in the euphoria of winning the song contest she kissed him. She told The Guardian that kiss was one of the greatest moments of her life. In fact, Angeli was all she had ever wanted - in a man, anyway. They married in 1994. She must have wanted other things because she worked relentlessly. In the UK, she is the only female artist to have two singles sell more than a million - My Heart Will Go On and Think Twice. She has five Grammy awards.
