Well, that was interesting...

 

I actually saw that sketch on the Chelsea Handler show a few months ago. I must say that while the idea is a bit funny, something about the way it was acted lacked the spark to actually be funny. As far as the lady impersonating Celine, she is actually a comedienne or a personality of a similar sort... But she needs to work more on the accent to sound more like Celine.

 

I don't remember if it was the same episode or not, but at the beginning of all her shows, Chelsea sits at a table with three more people (usually comedians) and they talk about recent events and Hollywood. The lady who played Celine was on the show and Chelsea started making comments regarding Celine. The lady on the sketch said that people always tell her she looks like Celine, but she doesn't like it... The woman said that looking like Celine was definitely not a compliment. And Chelsea agreed and said something along the lines that it would be better to look a like celebrity that was actually good looking.

well it was funny at the end but i think i definitely prefer kathy griffin over chelsea bc kathy is actually a fan and jokes about things we do find funny about celine. chelsea is pretty blunt and has a dry sense of humor almost

kathy griffin's jokes really aren't any better or less obscene. the difference is she's apparently a fan. but really, i have a friend who loves kathy griffin and was so excited to tell me about kathy "bashing celine" because my friend had no idea kathy was actually a celine fan. but that just goes to show just how much kathy lets her fandom be known lol

I hated that!, wasnt funny atall, well rene charles was but chelsea is heartless and i dont think she meant what she said in a funny way, her jokes get to people more because she doesnt say them in a jokily way!

Really I just let it go in one ear and out the other. This isnt the first time we have all heard these jokes over the years and it wont be the last. I think there are ways to do it and it be tasteful and then there are other ways that just sound kinda gross.

 

I truly think that Kathy Griffin is hilarious and her form of comedy on Celine is okay. She has never really bashed Celine. She just talks about things that are well.....kinda true and I love it. Shes a fan too so it helps things. Perez Hilton is another one who is a fan a has a good time with it. I think he is so so so funny and he truly loves Celine and just throws out positivity with his jokes and thats cool. SNL also do a good job with the Celine jokes. Back in i think...1997 or 1998...they did the Celine Dion Show sketch and I have to say its one of my favorites sketches ever!!!! HILARIOUS

 

Those are good ways to make fun. Its the people like Chelsea Handler and MAD TV that truly make me sick at my stomach. Its not just the way they make fun of Celine...its the way they talk about any and all celebs. They use a negative energy that just really doesnt set right with me. They should be parodying not bashing the people that give us emotions, feelings, and inspirations. They are the art. Well...most of them anyway..

 

I just think that there are ways to be funny without being crude and bashing something like a person's personal life that is none of the public's business. Yes, Celine is very open and honest and will tell you just about everything about her life but would these people want their lives broadcasted over the TV and Internet like that? I dont think so. Like I said...I have learned to ignore most of the negative jokes and i just follow the jokes that do Celine justice.

 

I love Celine so much and sometimes its okay to laugh and poke fun at her as long as its done with decency and taste. Im about the classy jokes that are funny and parody not bash Celine.

There are people who recon I have a great sense of humour... And I can also laugh out loud on some comedy on Céline.

 

BUT there are borders somewhere, right? For me this one isn't funny at all, moreover, I find it's rude.

But I know there are people laughing at such kind of 'jokes'... I wouldn't be surprise seeing something like this in some German TV stations, for instance.

celine herself said when she was mercilessly parodied on saturday night live that if people are making fun of you, you have obviously impacted pop culture! chelsea handler is hilarious -- and the first one she is always willing to poke fun at is herself. so i thought it was funny... and come on, don't we all find rene charles' hair a bit ridiculous?

Yes, I saw that... Chelsea was talking to the panel about Mariah and though they made fun of her, they did say that she's the only diva left that is not a crack whore... And the other lady did say that Celine didn't count because she is an alien. I don't know what the lady meant to say with that statement, but it makes no sense to me. Perhaps she was trying to say that Celine is just strange and out of this world, I don't know... LOL.

 

Sometimes I watch the Chelsea show and though sometimes it can be funny, Chelsea is sometimes plain strange and lacks humor.
