In honour of my 4.444th post...and Célines recent milestone, I wanted to make this topic

 

Do you think Céline realises that Céline causes all this?? We're now a forum with 16,948 members and almost a million (923,493) posts!! A lot of people are coming here every day, to see if there's Céline news, to discuss about the latest single choice, the new video, her new hairstyle, the concerts of the Taking Chances tour an old song that was rediscovered, your top ten of songs, albums, performances and so on...

But also a lot of people who have fun in the Off Topic section, with games, strange topics, sad topic, requests...Or to showcase their new additions to their collection, post performances of their own, download awesome stuff in the multimedia section...

 

Because of this, a lot of friendships have been made and people who would never meet in a million years meet up in all different places, just because they have one thing in common: the love for Céline! And from this love tight friendships evolved!

 

I dont think Céline has a clue that because of her dream to sing all her life... she has made not only so many people in this world happy, but also made it possible for so many people to become friends with people from Europe, Asia, North and South America, Oceania and Africa! To make them laugh and cry together, to tell each other what is bugging them, to comfort each other, to fall in love, to live life!

 

So I guess I'm saying thank god for Céline Dion and thank Koolan and Bellamy and all the 16.946 other guys and girls for this forum!

Great artists whose music resists through the years is due to their fame and to the fact that they have such fans that never get tired of them - as about us - we never tired of talking about Celine, listening to her & so on. Remember her meeting with the fans backstage in vegas (that meeting on the "A new day..." DVD), the way she was impressed by those guys telling her their feeling, the efforts she made in order not to cry...? 'Cause I remember her tell "The fans are part of the show, and what they are giving me I wanna give'em back. And I wanna give them my soul now more than ever" (if I do remember well, after her comeback in 2002) She definetely has some kind of idea about it

well said post... and so true! I think she does realize to some degree because we're very expressive fans! I think it so cool that we, people all over the world, can come together because of Celine, it makes me smile

Awwwwe, very well said Davey! That's so sweet, and you're so right!

All the awesome people I've met is thanks to this forum and Celine. It's like Celine is the dream... the destination. And the forum is our starting line where we find stepping stones to help us along the way to achieve our dream... or in other words seeing/meeting Celine. It absolutely wonderful.

I think that Celine knows what kind of effect she has on us the fans. But she doesn't let it go to her head. So far , I was lucky enough to see her once live on concert ten years ago and I hope to see her again soon. Yes; this is the place to go to get all of my Celine news. I wouldn't go any ware else.

Whether Celine realizes or not, her fans realize what she has done. And it's her fans that Celine performs for and speaks to. She is an amazing person. I too am getting teary-eyed reading this topic.

 

I am not only a rather new member of the forum, I am a fairly recent Celine fan. I, of course, had heard of her for years, but never paid much attention to her music until last year when I caught a video of her singing "The Prayer" with Josh Groban (another one of my favorite singers). I was soooo BLOWN AWAY!! I started searching YouTube for every video I could find of her. Then I found the video of her appearance on Larry King shortly after Hurricane Katrina. (I am a Katrina victim - lost darn near everything I owned). She was so upset and so adamant that things had to be done to help people in New Orleans (where I am from and still work, though I live about 200 miles away from there now). She was like a lioness: emotional, fierce and passionate!!!! I instantly thought, this woman is more than a celebrity. She really cares. Larry King asked her if there was a song that she could could sing for the victims of Katrina and she sang an a cappella version of "The Prayer" and said "God bless them all". I couldn't stop crying. I have loved her ever since. And I thank her for bringing me to this forum where I can connect with her other fans all over the world and hopefully exchange greetings, ideas, thoughts, feelings, graphics, videos, pictures, information and anything else related to Celine and our love for her.

I think she does...but not to the full extent. i dont think she realises quite how loved she is from people all around the world. i dont think it would ever go to her head shes too grounded...amazing person.

That's what I'm thinking about very often... OK, I joined this forum only in 2005 so I'm not so "old" member here, hehe, but before I joined here, I have been around with Céline fans a lot already - first via snail mail contacts, than, sinca around 1997 I started meeting other fans online and talking to them on mIRC and some mailing lists...

 

These are all great memories and also my today's experience.

Within all these years I met loads of great people (ok, there were som not so nice exceptions too but they only confirm the rule, hehe) and I also met quite a lot of these people in real life. Some of them are my great friends for many years now.

I've never seen Céline live (yet) but I met many other fans individually or at some fan meetings...

 

Also, since I joined this forum, I found some old friends here, people I knew and kept in touch with in the past but lost the contact because they moved, their e-mail addresses have changed or whatever...

 

If I should tell how many people from this forum I already met in real life... I guess there will be about 5-10 people. Not much really but I know that this year, during the tour, I'll surely meet many more of you and that's also one thing I'm looking forward too very mcuh!!!

 

I don't know whether Céline realizes all this? I'm sure she realizes how much she means to all her fans on all the continents, how much she changes their lives etc. because she surely gets a lot of mail from around the world and she meets her fans sometimes so she gets the impression, I guess.

 

As for bringing so many people together into friendships, maybe even into love relationships... Well, I'm not sure if she realizes this but maybe yes. Think of that DVD taping in Las Vegas - she surely realized that many of those fans who went to meet&greet her know each other. She surely heard from one or another about this forum too and probably also about other boards where the fans are gathering together. I know quite a lot of members here met her in person, some of them more than once I'm sure somehow she realizes this too - that she's becoming the way to meet up for many people from around the world!

 

One more reason why we can love her so much! :wub:
