Why is Sony obsessed with stereotyping Celine as an AC artist?

Had they been released as singles, Celine would have gained more young fans to keep herself in the charts. After her world tour, she should forget her overplayed ballads and advance the winsome soft rock that TCH has initiated. She can go back to her mushy ballads when she reaches Barbra Streisand's age.

They don't want her to have the same AC image, but they don't know how to change that. Just look some crap uptempo songs she recorded in the past just because of them. But somehow, even trying so hard, she doesn't do right in the nowadays music situation.

Give me a break. We want Celine to have more success, but no that it comes with crap of music like Madonna's "4 minutes" for example.

I want Celine to stay Celine as she feel good with the things she records, and not to make her Mariah, Madonna and even not Alicia insteed she's great.

But in all seriousness, her record companies does need to do a better job with releasing singles from her albums. I actually had a dream list of singles I would've wanted released from her albums 2002-present. I'll show them to you all for the hell of it

 

A New Day Has Come: I Surrender(to show that Celine still has one hell of a voice and can belt out notes better than anyone), Sorry For Love(to show her dance side), When The Wrong One Loves You Right(either the album version or Destiny's Child version, which would show her skills with collaborations), and A New Day has Come(the album version, since to me, it's kind of an Enya-like new age ballad, and I think it would've done well).

 

One Heart: I Drove All Night(with a better music video that was shot in more than 5 minutes ), Reveal(with a sexy music video)

 

Taking Chances: Eyes On Me(to show her new sound), Fade Away(it's very Kelly Clarkson-ish, so it would do an amazing job as a single), Can't Fight The Feelin'(rocker Celine for the win!), This Time(with the subject matter of the song, and a controversal music video, the song could do amazing)

 

All of those songs would've gotten Celine a LOT of success, and would've done better than the singles released in real life. Stupid record companies >_>

i think that celine could have sold even more millions of albums if she/sony had chosen the rights singles to release. but oh well, celine is celine and she is still the biggest selling female artist of all time!! we cant complain too much!!

What I was saying was that TASTEFUL collaborations like with Destiny's Child (WTROLYR) and Will.i.am (EOM) would have been great. They appeared on her CBS specials so why not on 2 of what could have been sensational single releases? I didn't say she had to be a harlot like Mimi or a hip-hop poseur like Madonna.
