Does anyone else agree/disagree?Are there any other songs you think should have been bigger hits than they were? SuperLove4Celine Posted March 27, 2008 at 01:30 AM Posted March 27, 2008 at 01:30 AM (edited) There's a few songs that I think should have been bigger hits: ~ "Then You Look At Me" - It should have been the second single off of All The Way...A Decade Of Song, not "I Want You To Need Me." ~ "Just A Little Bit Of Love" - Again, another song that should have been a single. This time "Just A Little Bit Of Love" should have been the uptempo single from Let's Talk About Love and not "Treat Her Like A Lady." ~ "I Drove All Night" - I think part of the reason this song didn't go as far as it could/should have was because of poor promotion (ex. the cheap music video - although Celine looks gorgeous in it, and releasing a CD single in the states SIX MONTHS after the song was already released!). ~ "Super Love" - This song should have replaced "Rain, Tax (It's Inevitable)" as being the funky song that's found on every version of the album, A New Day Has Come. ~ "Christmas Eve" - An amazing uptempo holiday track from These Are Special Times. This song should have been part of the CBS special. It could have made a bigger impact to radio had it been promoted! ~ "A cause" - A sensational track from Celine's album, D'elles! Yet again, though, pathetic promotion - if any at all! I can imagine a much more involved dance club music video than the version that was made for the song, "One Heart." ~ "Stand By Your Side" - This touching song from the album, One Heart, didn't go anywhere because an adequate music video was not produced. This song spoke volumes about what a lot of, at least Americans, were feeling about the men and women fighting overseas. ______________________________________ Okay, I think I'm done. I remember in high school all my guy friends would come up to be and go "dude, Celine Dion looked SO hot in that video" lol. And I was all "OMG thank you so MUCH!" hehe. Personally, I think I Drove All Night should have been a bigger hit. I mean, you would see the video occasionally, and sometimes it would be on the radio. I played it recently and one of my friends whose a total thug even admitted that it was a pretty good song, so I guess people heard it and remembered it. But yeah, I would have to say IDAN. Quote

It did fairly well on AC charts, but in general, it could have done MUCH better, but as is always the case, poor promotion and Sony not giving a rats behind about anything regarding Celine, has resulted in where we are now. It had everything radio needed back then and for some reason, it fizzled. Is Nothing Sacred would have been a perfect single for Celine's LTAL album as Celine's music was flying off the shelves at the time and the US was still totally into power ballads back then. I Surrender not being released as a single, even to AC radio, was a HUGE mistake. IDAN should NOT have been the first single from OH! I preferred Coulda Woulda Shoulda as the uptempo song and I agree that Stand By Your Side should have also been released as a single. TC was a mistake as a single. Its good album filler but not a standout performance. In my never humble opinion, Shadow Of Love should have been released to radio first. The second US single should have been one of her slower songs like My Love or TJTWIM, but NOT Song for You as it bores me to tears...
