Thus, classes are cancelled. The world has truly gone mad. University is suppposed to be a valued, safe place. Everyone is pensive as all hell, especially since the same thing happened to NIU earlier. Something has got to change. I have "L'amour existe encore" in my head. Indian Univs and schools never faced the problem before but it is happening here as well. The univs aren't affected that much but last year more than 15 High School students were killed. GULP! From Krys's comments, guns should be sold only after thorough procedures and there should be strict laws for purchase. Lucky that it isn't sold there in malaysia. But the city where I live is "allegedly" the gun-market for the entire Eastern region of India Quote

Several reasons (I'm not going to go into the Second Amendment debate though) including the fact they can kill scores of people because it's hard to flee a classroom when there's a gunman stood at the door. Most schools and colleges are "gun free zones" so shooters go into it knowing that they're not gonna get shot down in 2 seconds by somebody carrying a concealed weapon... you go into a restaurant and try to commit the crime you run the risk of somebody with a concealed weapons permit cutting short your intended massacre by shooting you in the head. Also, most people who commit these crimes are teenagers and they are notorious for blowing small things out of proportion... if you're a messed up kid with an axe to grind and you have access to a gun well, it's a recipe for disaster.
