artist Posted March 20, 2008 at 10:27 AM Posted March 20, 2008 at 10:27 AM OK.. people here in Syria believe that the majority of the British people have the same mentality as queen Elizabeth I.... lol.. no offense, she is one of my favorite historical characters.... but in general, yes, people here believe that British are cold most of the time, especially their accent.... but for me, it doesn't matter, and i can't judge since i haven't been there yet... I am an English literature student, so sure i should like them Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v346/anasassaad/jnjkhjk_zpsbd763de7.jpg

And from the impression I get here on the board they seem to be just cool folks with great accents Quote Music Is Life...Live ItYou are the music while the music lasts. ~T.S. Well here's the thing...to Americans, no matter what British dialect you speak, it comes off as posh to us. Any British accent sounds very classy to Americans. Personally, I think it's quite refreshing. You guys always get your point across in such an eloquent manner. I guess the negative stereotype that Americans have towards the English...would be the bad teeth thing, lol. Of course, I personally don't think it's true because I've been to England, and everyone's teeth were perfectly straight for the most part. Quote
Krys Posted March 20, 2008 at 06:03 PM Posted March 20, 2008 at 06:03 PM i lurve British accents too one day i'll go visit England. but when the day comes, i'll be real broke your currency is soooooo large compared to ours lol Quote

Yes, it's a common stereotype apparently. British people are thought to have really bad teeth: dirty, uneven or generally unpleasant. Mike Myers uses this joke a lot. Look at Austin Powers' teeth...! As far as I know, my teeth are clean and fairly regular... At least I hope they are!
