Now... what will MILESTONES: Memories Of A WorldWide Journey be? Well, if you read the subtitle, it gives you a vague idea. :P It'll basically be very similar to a yearbook. The only difference is instead of basing it on school memories, this will be made focused on the highlighted Celine moments (events), as well as, fan experiences and memories of the Taking Chances World Tour.

 

And so, why start a thread? I'm hoping to get some of the wonderful people here to be part of this book. ^_^ The book will be printed high quality, with full-colour pages, finished with a hardcover (casewrap) (8.5 x 11). I'm looking for somewhere around 50 fans to contribute to the book in order to get it up and running, otherwise there'll be nothing to put into the book. :P But why only 50 fans? Well, I'm trying to stay within a good budget, and a good budget will only let me have around 80 pages, which sums up to roughly $40 - $45. It sounds a little pricey, but given that it'll be in the Miracle book type quality, it's not that bad. :)

 

The project itself will take several months to complete. After collecting all of the fan stuff, I'll still need to make each individual page, as well as, completing the other Celine pages. After completing all of the pages, I'll need to send an order into the printing company to get it printed and then have the orders sent to me, which can take up to 30 business days, apparently. :blink: The MILESTONES: Memories Of A WorldWide Journey book will be distributed throughout Canada and the United States. Any orders must be submitted before December 2008 (will be changed if necessary). I plan to ship each copy very shortly after Celine's tour concludes. If you would like a copy of the book once it is completed, please send me a PM and I'll provide you will all the information you'll need to know. :)

 

Despite product distribution in the selected areas, all fans who contribute to the book will be given the opportunity to purchase a copy of the book, regardless of location. :) (Note: You do not have to purchase the book to be part of the project.)

To give you all an idea of what each fan page will look like, I've made a sample template to show everyone. The colour scheme of the template will not all be exactly the same for each fan. My plan is to have at least five different colour schemes, if not, more. This template is not the final one, so if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please feel free to leave some comments. I'll probably end up tweaking it quite a bit eventually. :P (Note: The second image is NOT the cover.)

Ahhhh! Sorry guys, I forgot to put a due date for all submissions. :giggle: But, I was thinking... If I make the deadline at the end of this year, the people who go to see her in early 2009 won't have a chance to submit anything... So, I think I'll extend I'll extend the contribution due dates...

 

New dates:

Contribution Due Date: February 5th, 2009

Order Deadline: February 8th, 2009

Shipping Date: February 14th, 2009

Okay... I've been talking about the project with my friend and some little scenarios have come up.

I just assume everyone will prefer hardcover over paperback. But keep in mind that hardcover is much more expensive to manufacture, and shipping rates can be quite scary for a book with that is both hardcover and contains coated pages (which can be quite heavy).

 

It would be like the Miracle book... but without as many pages. not as thick, and not as big. :P

 

Also, please be aware that the shipping date I posted above is inaccurate... I will be shipping all the products serperately depending on location.

IMPORTANT UPDATES:

 

01. Book will be 6 x 9 instead of 8 x 10 (it was never 8.5 x 11, my mistake :giggle: ). The reason why it is being changed is because it will reduce the shipping fee. :) (I'm thinking about all of you! :lol: )

 

02. Will remain full-colour with hardcover.

 

03. Shipping date NEEDS to be extended because of processing time. I will place the order very shortly after the order deadline, and it should take about 30-ish (almost 2 months, but not quite) business days to be shipped to me. It will take me about a week to get all the mailing stuff organized, and depending on what kind of shipping you choose, the book will get to you at the designated time. (Estimated around the end of April or early to mid May).

 

(Okay... Now I'm going to stop posting before I get in trouble. :lol: :giggle: )

I'm in as well! The show I'm going to doesn't happen until November 23rd (San Jose, California - USA), but I will definately start sending you things as I get things together!

So far I've made the tour itinerary page (pain the in rear to fit into two pages :rolleyes: :giggle: ), and also several pages for some people, yes Carla, including yours. :P None of these people have seen any of the concerts yet, but they were able to submit the first couple of answers, so that things are lighter afterwards. :)

 

But anyway. I have three templates made so far, and I plan to make at least another 3... as so to get some variety. :) So just to give you all a vague idea, here's a little sample of what the fan pages look like so far. (I told you changes were going to happen :P )

I have an idea for each of our pages. In the circle where you have Celine's photo maybe we could pick our favorite photo of Celine and have it go there? If this would be too tough due to multiple photos sent to you maybe you could give us a selection of 5 to choose from for our page?

Ah yes lol. The circle is for the picture of the fan, and the rectangle is a picture of the city/country the fan is from. :yes: :)

Hi I would love to be in your book.I saw Celine at the Birmingham Nia on May 10th 2008. I had seen her previously twice before. I am 31 years old and I have loved her ever since I was 15. My favourite Celine song is "I Surrender".

 

The only problem is I am not sure how to send you photos but I am going to ask my husband and see if he knows how to do it.

Celine is my idol and so it would be fantastic if I could be included. :flowers:

I'm sorry to announce this, but unfortunately, the MILESTONES Book Project has been discontinued. I've been looking into getting the book printed when the time comes and it takes A LOT of work in order to get things right. And frankly, with all that's been going on - FOUR of my own websites, and a website for the school's Music Department that I have to manage and maintain is a bit of a load to begin with. BUT, instead of creating a book full of memories, I will be using www.celinedioncanada.com as a replacement of the MILESTONES Book Project. I will still be looking for the same information from fans - minus photos. ;) So if you're still interested, keep sending stuff my way. ^_^
