It was ok...But because us Fans and Simon ( ) know the Celine version so well, it wasn't a good pick for her.

he's my favorite too!!! I'd love him to sing Céline. He would totally nail it and probably make me cry, because his performances are always so serious and amazing when they're intimate songs.

 

Edit: Also!! Carly singing IDAN tonight was amazing!! I was really impressed by her! She's my fave girl and I got so excited to hear her sing Céline. And she actually hit the notes quite well, I thought. Cut a couple of them a LITTLE short, but she still hit the height.

I quite liked it!

She did sing it well, but she got criticized for doing the Celine version of it haha.

But this year they keep doing Celine songs, and its making me so incredibly happy =)

David "stripper boi" Hernandez shouted the song instead of singing the high notes with power and control. He can reach the notes but the quality is pretty average to me. I was unaffected by his performance.

 

And if we're to open a topic every time an American Idol contestant sings a Celine song, this board will be full of those topics There was All By Myself last week and I Drove All Night tonight... and all of them were from average to dreadful (no my name is not Simon Cowell )

"It's All Coming Back To Me Now" is a power ballad, written by Jim Steinman. According to Steinman the song was inspired by Wuthering Heights, and was an attempt to write "the most passionate, romantic song" he could ever create. Meat Loaf has said the song was intended for Bat out of Hell II and given to the singer in 1986, but that they both decided to use "I'd Do Anything for Love (but I Won't Do That)" for Bat II, and save this song for Bat III.

 

 

It's All Coming Back To Me Now by Pandora's Box is the original.

 

 

Celine made the song very popular.

 

 

Wow! Last year, Haley Scarnato sung this song, this year david sung it. We should expect this song to be sung again by one of the next batch of American Idol.

I did watch that, i think the song was too big for him. It seems that he needed more air.....

I liked the way he changed it up a little, and didn't try to sing it in a key that was too high for him, which coulda been an easy mistake seeing as though it's such a big song. I liked his rendition, and purchased it in iTunes. Too bad he's not on AI anymore... I liked him.

I think he did a good job with the song. For me he had a little of an attitude problem, but I think he did not deserve going out so early. Haley Scarnato did a better job on IACBTMN last year IMO.

Mr. Hernandez's rendition is pretty good. this is one of only few songs that suits both for male and female.
