Honestly, I've never heard of any of these people before. Although I'm sure they all write amazing songs, I don't think producers for Josh Groban is what Celine's career needs to get it back like it was in the 90s.

I don't think she should focus on one producer. A collaboration is usually the best. I love TC for it's variety for songs and styles. I think it's her best album! That mix of different producers was just so refreshing!

Well, pardon me but where have you been for the past 10 years?

Céline's albums have always (at least the past 10 years) had many producers on them, and that is the albums failuire. - Sure an album can have different genres different styles, but a good album NEEDS an overall similar SOUND, otherwise it gets as schizo as a Greatest Hits album, and that's what her album has been, and that is their weekness.

For TC for example I would had preffered if only two producers had been active on the album... Linda Perry and John Shanks, these producers bring the most welcome sound to TC in my opinion.

Peace and love to all.

I know that I will sound old , but I do not mind If Celine works with David Foster again..I know some will say that she did that in Miracle but I mean a regular album..

At least it will never have a low sale as it is with TC!!

Look at Josh Groban album....

I think David Foster is a great producer. He has produced wonderful material for Josh and Celine alike. However, we all know that Celine took a different direction with the Taking Chances album. If Celine records other English language albums in the future, I am sure she will work with David Foster again.

As much as I recognize that David Foster produces excellent material, we really cannot assume that Taking Chances has not had the same high level of sales as Falling into You or Let's Talk About Love or Josh Groban's album simply because David Foster was not involved in the production of Taking Chances.

Well, given that Celine worked with a different slew of producers on the Taking Chances album, anything is possible. I am sure Celine would be glad to work with any of the above listed producers.

And why is it that those producers do not have what it takes to help Celine reach the career level she had in the 90s? Why is it that Celine needs to reach that level once again? Honestly, I really do not think Celine is looking for that. As a singer, her trajectory is magnificent. Her records are among some of the best in the music industry. She has worked with great producers and collaborated with some of the best singers in the music industry. A New Day... was extremely successful. She achieved a new sound with Taking Chances while remaining true to herself. The world tour will run until January 2009 and though she just started touring, sales have been greatly successful as well. Celine has really outdone herself. After she finishes the tour, though there are many rumors of her future plans, I think she will take more time to truly live her personal life. As much as I love Celine, I would not expect another album in English for some time (2012, if not after). Then again, that is just my opinion.

I love Taking Chances, specially the song produced by Ne-Yo, "I got nothin' left".

Working with Josh Groban producers would be a step backwards. She's been there, done that.

Although I absolutely adore Josh Groban (I'm grobandion after all!!!) I just feel Celine needs producers like Ne-Yo, Linda Perry, Ben Moody, John Shanks and the rest of the TC crew.

Yes, I agree with your statements. Though there are many rumors as to what Celine may do after the end of the tour in January 2009, time will definitely tell. There are rumors that Celine will take some time off and spend time at home with her family. Celine might want to try have a second baby. Others say she may do some acting and interpret Maria Callas on film. Heck, there are rumors that Celine may return to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and do a very short engagement of a few shows. So, the future is a very wide, open book!

However, I am not going to expect too much as far as a new record in English is concerned. We might not see another record until 2012-2015. Just my opinion though.

Celine and her team picked the right producers for TCH. The problem is Sony marketing or the lack of it.

Celine needs great producers , but also time to get involved in production, to play with her voice... to create... to explore her voice...

I think producers can`t do much if they only have Celine in the studio for a few hours... Like in TC sessions

I need someone to loves m like Celine loved René... And just like she sang in LTAL track # 16, I ask for that exact same thing

again i say mark ronson....amy winehouse's producer ...great 60's vibe and we all love river deep mountain high!!

was Celine only in the studio for a few hours on each song???? seems disappointing that the songs she will be singing for the next year garnered little effort??? maybe she worked at home on them??? maybe they should have waited till vegas was finished recorded the album then???? i dont think she is work shy at all god she seems non stop at the moment but deffinetely the priorities have shifted and i think the money comes before the music at the moment....and we are gettin substandard celine ....based on her own very high past standards.

will i be crucified for saying that????

At this point in her career, I do not think money comes before the music. I do not think we need to remind ourselves how wealthy Celine is... She is definitely not working because she needs the money. If we recall, let us remember the Live in Las Vegas audio CD Celine released in 2004 and the accompanying DVD. Celine was featured in the studio recording songs for One Heart and the prep period for A New Day... in Las Vegas. She said she was recording a new album and working not because she had to, but because she loved doing it. Celine has said before that if her career were to end today, she would accept it and go home to her family. Even when she released Let's Talk About Love, she also said that she was so happy with the ending results that she could retire happily and look back positively with her career... And this is going back to 1997-1998.

At this point and time, I do not think we are getting a substandard Celine. As we all know, the Taking Chances album was meant to be different than anything Celine has recorded in the past. Celine simply wanted to try a new sound... And I think she has succeeded! Taking Chances is a great album with different material than say Falling into You, Let's Talk About Love, or A New Day Has Come. The new sound is very refreshing! I think that Las Vegas has indeed transformed Celine... Celine is still the same Celine we all know and love. But I think Celine has reinvented herself somewhat... Las Vegas has allowed Celine to have another perspective in when comes to performing. I think that her Vegas residency has also made Celine want to try new sounds and to be more innovative. Celine has even become more stylish and modern in her wardrobe.

Bottom line... Sometimes change is good. Being innovative is good. Taking chances is sometimes necessary. Sometimes a new image and sound can be refreshing and take a person into new directions. And that is what Celine really wanted.

Let me just include some parts of an interview with Celine in Billboard Magazine... Maybe some of her words will allow us to see why sometimes she does things the way does. Overall, I do not think Celine wants to top the success she had in the mid and late 1990s, for example. I think she just wants to explore new stages and phases and try new things with her sound and career.

... Let's jump ahead to your four-and-a-half-year residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, from 2003 to 2007. One of the reasons the concept was so appealing to you is that it offered stability, a routine and the opportunity to focus on raising your child, René Charles. Now that it has been a couple months since closing night, do you miss it?

The hardest part is not seeing the people we worked with for so long. The last show [Dec. 15] was emotional. But you have to know when to stop. You don't want to leave after things start to fall down. So we were ready. It's a great achievement, we're very proud of it, but it's time to move on to greater things.

... What are you goals for the upcoming tour?

We would never attempt to beat anything we've done in the past, so we're not trying to do a better tour, we're trying to do a successful tour. When you're stable for a while, it's nice to move the furniture around and to vacuum under the sofa, to clean out the attic. So we want to have a good time and try new things, different things.

...

since Unison, all celine's album have different producers depending on the songs' genres. david foster for the ballads, ric wake for the upbeat numbers, ne-yo for rnb-ish lol, john shanks for the rock songs, etc..

so producers have nothing to do with her sales.. it's SONY BMG who are soooo...uuuhhhhhh.....

In my opinion, Celine couldn't get any more successful in 2007 as she was. My gawd, she released two breathtaking albums, a recordbreaking DVD, prepared for her first tour since years and alll that whilst her Vegas show was still running.

She is, and will ever be the best selling female artist of all time! Not one single person in the world will evr be able to sell 30 million copies of two albums.... time has changed.

I'm sure she will release tons of new albums until she's 94 with all sorts of songwriters and producers. I for one only wish that one day I'll have her first all selfwritten album in my hands - who cares if this will be successful or not.

I think bfhb just misses the good old ballads. TCH is a great album. On this one, she shows more vocal and musical colors than she ever did in the past.

Part of me misses the ballads as well. Then again, there are so many ballads by Celine anyway. But Taking Chances is a great album indeed and I am glad that Celine wanted to try a different sound. Songs like Map to My Heart and The Reason I Go On are very reminiscent of 1990s Celine. Alas, I do not understand why those songs were not included in the US release of Taking Chances. They would have made great additions!
