I just found out at this exact moment that her song UNISON is just her rendition of LAURA BRANIGAN'S song UNISON... Sorry if I'm not aware of this and if this is a repost please de;ete this thread.

I saw it at VH1 site that Laura sang this song first then Celine Revived this song and made it as her title for her FIRST ENGLISH ALBUM....

anyone who has a file of Laura's Version?

Unison was first recorded by Junior in 1983. Laura covered this song before Celine did hers in 1990. So Celine is the second artist covered Unison.

That's bad! :( I love this song and now I feel kinda let down.

I am a HUGE LB fan, she'll always have a special place in my heart. I've followed her career since 1982 and have met and seen her shows many many times. Celine is now #1 in my heart, but for me Celine had that kinda career I always wished LB had. Anyway, yeah they both released albums with the song Unison on it. Originally LBs album was to be titled Unison but that was changed - maybe because Celine had the same title? Who knows. LB was on Atlantic Records, who wasn't doing much for her - kinda like Sony now with Celine.

Before LB passed away she recorded "Whatever It Takes" and in 1988 she recorded the song "Power Of Love" which got to #26 on the Hot 100. Laura's voice was VERY emotional, much more than Celine's but not as technically powerful as Celine's though. Early on in Celine's career she resembled LB a bit as well and LB loved Edith Piaf and also spoke French although she never recorded in French which I think was a mistake.

LB was pretty popular in the Phillipines and So Africa too, they released a few special edition albums and cds in SA.

Maybe LB's album was renamed to her self titled album instead of Unison maybe for some reasons but can't be a reason for Celine is covering that song for her album because LB recorded it in the 80s and Celine did it on the 90s... :ermm:

Well her first and second albums were titled Branigan and Branigan 2, so most of the fans thought it was odd that they called this one Laura Branigan. Both LBs and Celine's album with the song Unison on it were released in 1990. I think they should've called the album "Bad Attitude", that was the second song on the album and a real good one. Laura was managed by her husband at that time and even though he was a very nice man, he wasn't a good entertainment manager. So there were a lot of problems with her career because of that. She really needed someone like Rene, Celine is very lucky to have him because the combo of her talent and his skills has put her on top.

celine version is the best ;)

Aww of course you're gonna say that, it's a Celine message board! :sofunny: :sofunny:

Honestly, I prefer the production on Laura's better. I do love the Celine remix with the rap tho.
