Okay, I hadn't heard of this song before this thread. So I went away to do some research and I managed to download a version by a French woman. I have no idea who it is but she has a great voice and the song is wonderful. It's so haunting! Does anybody know who this might be? I'm sorry I can't give more info but I guess it will be the most, or one of the most, popular recordings of the song as it is the only one I found. It sounds like it was recorded in the 70s. Anyone have any ideas? I saw a video of Dalida singing it on youtube and thought it might be her but it turned out she was singing in Italian. Did she record a French version? I also learned that it is actually an English song, originally recorded by a British group. I must say I prefer the French version though! Anyway, thanks to the people on this forum I have discovered another beautiful song (even if I haven't got Celine's version yet!) What a great place! I did, however, find this on youtube for anybody who might be interested...!
