Does Celine Sound Younger Than She Really Is?

Well we all know Celine is reaching her 40th b-day in a little over a month...but my friend and I were listening to her CD, and my friend said she sounded really young...and I've always agreed. Not young as in a weak, untrained voice...but a fully vocally capable maybe like...25 year old woman. I think Celine's voice sounds very young considering how old she really is. Not any less poweful or inferior of course...but she has a supernaturally powerful, yet youthful sounding voice. Anyone else agree?

I agree!! Celine has done an amazing job taking care of her voice and I hope she continues to do that. She is flawless.

Well, we must realize that 40 isn't old! But Celine does have a youthful sound, but she also sounds like she's very knowledgeable in her work, like she's lived every word that she sings. Moreso in her older french work, but she has still got it...and her voice is stronger than ever.

I don't think she sounds younger. Hmmmm... The songs may have a different style now and sounds younger than her age, but her voice sounds a lil older if compared to her previous albums. Well, she sounds she has more control of her voice.

 

But for live performances, she sounds older. Well, she sings her songs in lower frets. I won't actually really blame Celine if she sings her songs in lower fret 'cos well she sings a lot especially during the las vegas shows and right now for World Tour.

 

If one sings a lot, your voice gets strained right away and will or may not be able to reach the highest notes Celine can hit.

 

So when i watch the DVD, I wasn't really that impresssed when it comes to her voice. It didn't sound as beautiful as it used to be. but she did well when she sang "River Deep, Mountain High."

Oh come on 40 isn't old at all, Celine is just good at taking care of her incredible voice.

i agree with most of you. she sounds so young now, especially in TC album. the most matured sounded celine was on her TAST cd. when i listen to TAST, i feel like im listening to a barbra streisand album, but great nevertheless. on TC, not only the genre went young, but celine's voice as well. i still remember when my mom first heard of the song TC, she thought i was playing a MANDY MOORE cd and i almost freaked out! and tell her that she's nuts. there's no way can mandy reach celine's high notes! LOL

what a funny discussion so I think the interpretation of "vocal age" is as difficult to do as the interpretation of age by the look of someone, some people who are 30 look like 20, others are 25 and look like 35 and women that wear make up are able to look 5 yrs. younger (or 10 $ cheaper ) but it always depens on the people who'll rate you.

 

So for me Celine sounds better than before 10 yrs., especially when she sings live, she sounds like a real woman but all that began with Falling Into You and her voice became older as well, see IACBTMN and relate it to MHWGO and than hear them both on the Las Vegas Live DVD and I think you will see, that her voice became more maturity... she sounds like a woman in her 30's/40's, not really much younger, I think.

celine knows what shoud she keeps her voice clearly such now, its so deeply, powerfully, masterfully, original, more mature, and also always the best she can do in singing every song.... bravo celine....

Celine is and will always be GREAT but that fact is go and hear "Because You Loved Me" from The CD "Falling Into You" and go and watch the "A New Day" DVD and Compare ...her voice is still great and better than anyone else but in my opinion she has aged in voice slightly, But then again the CBS Special Yesterday with Josh Groben was "the Prayer" Live and she sounded u-n-b-e-l-i-v-e-a-b-l-e- .

So I dont know....?
