Celine Sings 'BELIEVE' of Cher

Hello everyone, I was browsing at one of the fansites, like us, and at a section WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT HER I read a comment - which was quoted - from Cher:

 

"Celine is the best singer in the world. Nobody can out-sing her. She was on Divas once with Aretha Franklin and a whole bunch of other girls. She blew them all away. I was amazed. One time we were both at NBC and she did “Believe” for me. She did all the electronic effects with her voice! I would never sing on the same stage with her at the same time! The other girls have got great style, but as far as pipes go ..."

And yes, there sure existed the video when Celine sang just a bit of "Believe" in front of Cher during a backstage interview after some show. I can't exactly remember but it was 1999 and Celine wore some type of a pant-suit and she sang TTWII. Cher was supposed to be on after Celine. They talked some during the break/change and that is when the cameras caught Celine doing that for Cher and she said how much she loved Cher and would love to perform with her.

I don't really know who Cher is. That song you quote sounded here in Argentina some years ago, but she's not famous here (it's a she, right?) It's good though she spoke nice about Celine. Hope you find the link, so I can listen to what you're saying

If I remember rightly Cher commented on this during an interview on Parkinson a few years ago too. I only caught the end of it, but my dad said that Cher had just been saying how great she thought Celine was and how she could do all sorts of digital-type effects with her voice which really impressed her.

Nopes, it was before. She was interviewed on May 6th (and they put it on the website on May 7th) and the Divas Las Vegas was on May 23

 

She wore jeans (with an awesome belt) and a brown top at the '99 Billboard Awards and not a pantsuit, so that is not it.

I'll look for it, thomas. And yes, if I can recall, I saw Cher's interview on Parkinson but I don't think she said that much about Celine. But heck, I can be wrong

Celine Dion only sang a little bit of tat song for Cher when they met each other before the concert VH1 Divas Las vegas where they also performed a medley of Elvis Presley.................................But Celine never recorded the song.........

Ever since Cher released "Believe" I have always thought the song would fit Céline better. The bridge asks for a long powerful note and Cher doesn't give it.

i remember this. it was CNN World Beat 98. Celine sang a short clip of Believe during the interview. She said she had been listening to the album because her makeup artist had given it to her or something like that.
