But there was one decidedly unexpected name alongside them: Quebec City singer/songwriter Pascale Picard - who the Gazette recently named as one of the artists to watch in 2008 - was a surprise nominee in the best artist category, where she's up against those titans: Dion (six nominations), Lavigne, Feist and Bublé (five nods each.)
