Alex_Incognito Posted February 5, 2008 at 02:11 PM Posted February 5, 2008 at 02:11 PM It was a marvelous, exciting time for us Celine fans. I think she's reached a new level of stardom since. Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990
shady pines ma Posted February 5, 2008 at 09:09 PM Posted February 5, 2008 at 09:09 PM I was so damned obsessed with that god awful movie. Thank God I got over it. Since I don't own the 3-Disc Collector's Edition DVD or anything. Nope. Not at all. It's not on my DVD shelf right now, and I didn't watch any bonus features last night or anything. Nope. Not at all. CelineAndRene Posted February 5, 2008 at 11:41 PM Posted February 5, 2008 at 11:41 PM LOL Those were the GOLDEN Years! Quote "...It's the circle of life. You gotta look forward. Two days during the year there's nothing you can do about: yesterday and tomorrow. Today is a great day." - Celine Dion, People.
grobandion Posted February 6, 2008 at 04:22 PM Posted February 6, 2008 at 04:22 PM That song was a N°1 hit on the Hot Latin Tracks of Billboard magazine....first and only time a song in English achieves that. Only Celine could do simething as crazy as that!!!! Quote
CelionDion Posted February 6, 2008 at 04:28 PM Posted February 6, 2008 at 04:28 PM Definitely her peak when it comes to success People always say it's ''Falling Into You'' but in fact ''Let's Talk About Love'' sold a little more than it's predecessor Quote http://showstalker.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/celine-dion-doctorate-laval-univ-2.jpg
grobandion Posted February 6, 2008 at 05:22 PM Posted February 6, 2008 at 05:22 PM I have always read/heard otherwise. FIY is her best selling album. Maybe if you combine LTAL with the soundtrack from the movie, you'll beat FIY sales. Quote
TreSean Posted February 6, 2008 at 08:30 PM Posted February 6, 2008 at 08:30 PM It was a marvelous, exciting time for us Celine fans. I think she's reached a new level of stardom since. I agree. After MHWGO the enitre world saw her as a major force in the business, but after the way she conquered the US with the Vegas Show, there is no denying that a phenomenon such as Celine is looked upon as Unparalleled Greatness. There will never be another. Quote TreSean

scorp82 Posted February 6, 2008 at 09:37 PM Posted February 6, 2008 at 09:37 PM It was a marvelous, exciting time for us Celine fans. I highly agree... Although we obviously cannot predict the future, I think it is safe to say that the level of success Celine had with MHWGO will be very difficult to match by any artist any time soon... And again... The way Celine was a force with MHWGO and the way she was able to be even more successful thereafter will again be difficult for an artist to reach that level of greatness! Quote
celineangel7 Posted February 7, 2008 at 01:56 PM Posted February 7, 2008 at 01:56 PM I guess you can say she has 2 signature songs.MHWGO on a world wide level and BYLM was sort of a song for the fans. I was so obsessed in school you couldn't shut me up about Celinefor the first few years. When MHWGO came out I remember one summerlistening to that song every day for 2 months! I believe the sound tracksold 30 million and LTAL 18 million world wide. Maybe it's the other way around or combinedI can't remember, but these statistics were quite a few years ago, so it's much more by now. It's amazing how MHWGO almost never was written, but then once it was, Celine was asked to sing it. Saw the movie 3 times only cried the 2nd at the part where they all fall of the shipand are freezing in the water. Those were the days. Everyone wantedto sing the song in the talent shows for school and in choir. My middle school band was handed MHWGO, but some people just couldnot play it right, so it got scrapped and if it had worked it would have been in the concert. I was a flute player for 8 years. I even bought a tin whistle to play it like in the song. That other statistic was on the radio about every 20 seconds somebody buys a Celine album. That was equal to being able to give everyone in the Philippines a dollar or something like that. Celine = power!!! Quote * December 18, 2008. 1st time ever in front row for a concert and it was with my idol Celine! Dream #1 accomplished. While singing a ballad the only time Celine looked at me was the time I had my sign up luckily! She stretched out her arm palm faced up while singing with even more emotion in her eyes when she saw it, so it seemed like it was just for me at that moment.Dream #2 accomplished with the extra bonus! She came and left on my side. I went out 1 row, held up my sign and she stopped, held it herself, and just looked at it with an awe expression on her face, stunned and amazed when she saw all the glitter! She looked me in the eyes with those beautiful brown eyes of hers she was tuned into me at that moment and didn't look away, again her looking so emotional as I said with a sincere look on my face to her "It took me 5 hours to make this." (could have been more not sure)She looked down and away very touched like maybe she wanted to cry then she HUGGED me!!!She held me for more than just a moment She really took her time! I said to her while about to cry from the hug, "I love you so much!" Then that was it I don't think she said a word to me. I was crying and saying omg all night with my heart racing and my mind in SHOCK from the unexpected hug and my eyes so sore from crying. I was ready to drop when I got home, but was so emotional I stayed up until 6:30 a.m.! Cried a little for a few days after. Sign and front row seat saved the day!Dream #3 accomplished... ThisTime Posted February 7, 2008 at 02:13 PM Posted February 7, 2008 at 02:13 PM MHWGO was the first time I heard Celine. At the time I was more concerned with playing with Spice Girls barbies to pay attention to Celine But I LOOOVED the titanic movie so I of course wanted the soundtrack and, then the lovely world of Celine music unfolded. But I actually still cry when I see the music video. Quote http://i.imgur.com/MfrTohK.gifMy Twitter || My Tumblr

x_celinedion Posted February 7, 2008 at 05:54 PM Posted February 7, 2008 at 05:54 PM (edited) I was so very little but I remember those days like yesterday and I would give the world to go back and do them all over again. I was a fan of hers because of my Dad - before the Titanic MHWGO frenzy. I never shutup about her and it was so great to see the whole world falling in love with her. I remember that too, when I was a kid we had talent shows and lip synch shows. I remember all the little girls wanting to do My Heart Will Go On and it would be like a fight to see who could get to it first. I remember at all the dances like the father daughter dance they would play that song always near the end. We would all just get so crazy. At one of those father daughter dances they would pass the mic around and I was with my friend Kelly, I will never forget this, her and I were belting the ending. I loved the ending of the song when I was little, it just gave me chills so that moment, singing into the microphone, was special to me as nerdy as it sounds. I remember at a kareoke thing on a cruise I went onto Bermuda we got a huge group together and sang it with my friends and family and their family who attended. Oh my gosh, I just can't believe these days just flew by...ten years. It is so unbelievable. Wow, I actually feel like bursting into tears. I miss this era most.
