Why did the Air Canada & Chrysler ad campaigns have contrasting outcomes?

My dad has a Chrysler!

I like to think Celine's ad may have had some influence but, to be honest, it's unlikely.

I can't remember ever seeing the ad on TV. The only ad I saw seemed to have Celine edited out!

i barely ever saw the celine commercials. maybe one in awhile but not all the time. i heard that instead of buying cars people just bought more albums. we never really heard the fully story i dont think.

chrysler used the wrong approach and strategy for their promotion..... buying a car have to spend hell lots of money. A spokeman can't help indeed... but the company's goodwill and promoting more about their product itself could help much more

Gah, I remember seeing the commercials with her in them ALL the time...they would go back and forth from the one with her singing in the car to I Drove All Night to the one with her son at the lake singing Have You Ever Been in Love....

:sigh: Will there EVER be a day when she sings "You And I" live WITHOUT the Air Canada employees? It's such a beautiful song that, no offense to the Air Canada crew, when they sing it ruins it for me. I'm glad they're having a fun time and whatnot, but it would be nice if Celine sang this song at least ONCE by herself.

Hate to be blunt, but maybe its because Chrysler doesn't make a good product.

 

No matter how good a spokesperson is, if the product is bad, why buy it? Trust me, I went and bought a Chrysler Pacifica right after the campaign was launched. Big mistake!
