I think it's a bit hit and miss. I can see what they were going for but I think it's hard for us who saw the tour first hand to see an image like that which is kinda boring overall. What we saw was vibrant and energetic and colourful and this photo is a bit flat and nothing really jumps out at you and says "this is gonna be a great show!". The original photo in Gerard's book was better than what they have done with it here. The pose is dreadful, you can't see her face properley and she looks in pain. I think the least you would expect on a Celine DVD would a picture where you can recognise Celine.

 

Maybe the designers of the cover never saw the DVD, because I think not using a photo of the stage featured in the show is a mistake as well. As much as the shows on the end stage were great, the centre stage was very special so its a shame not to showcase it and the amazing lighting and special effects. You may see the end stage in the documentary but I think most people would agree the centre stage looks better, talking aesthetically. It's more striking. The covers that celinefanonline posted give a better feel for the show which I think is important. Especially the IA cover, it feels really electric! It makes you want to watch the show.

They spend more than a year on this thing and that's the best cover art they can come up with? Besides the fact that it's not flattering to Celine, it's not representative of the tour. They should've pick a photo from one concert with the center stage... Anyway, I just hope the content will be better.

I'm not sure seeing Céline legs in that photo is going to change potential buyers minds Also, Schachmes surely took cents of pictures of Celine showing her legs... they went to choose the worst one

I agree the cover is a little flat. However, It is sort of fresh and simple in a good way. Nontheless, what really stands for me is the fact that Sony is promoting Celine as just "Celine" instead of "Celine Dion", which kinda takes away the diva impression that many people has about her.

Ok so the cover is pretty much official i just saw it on Amazon.... Although i don't think it is the best option for a cover however it is not that bad either... My thinking at this point is.... They may change the line up of song that are included on the dvd... meaning the may not be exclusive to what was preformed at "The Boston Show" They may complie "The best of the best preformances" from the whole tour? Example including: preformances such as Think Twice, I Got the Music In Me unseen by general public... surprises? Lets hope!

What a shocker of a cover. Anyone with a photoshop program could do that cover. Crop a photo that represents the concert poorly, put a pink graphic with writing on it and done. It could be achieved in 5 minutes or less. Kinda of a shame really.

Maybe have the full stage (with its catwalks, from the side) pictured at the bottom of the cover, then a shot of Céline in the middle and then the title at the top....

I made these ones quickly, you'd have to put on which city it was etc. This is my favourite pic from Boston, probably my favourite from the whole tour actually! I hope they go for a dynamic pose like this one and they really need to show off those legs...

I agree and wish that the crowd was more enthusiastic on the cover picture. But I still like it. I love all the pictures from that particular show. It's exciting to see in daylight SO MANY PEOPLE there watching her.

 

And I think the general public thinks of Celine Dion in this way. Very dramatic. Not an attractive face when she sings -- but it's because of the POWER of her voice. How can you make a pretty face when you're hitting those notes?!

 

So while it may not be a perfect cover - it's still good.

There's no way this is official if we're getting the concert from Boston. There's absolutely no sense to use Dublin show for cover of Boston concert and they wouldn't do that. I still like the whole idea of the cover, it's different then all the other ones.

But they've could have done a better job after 2 years

It is very silly to use a picture on the cover of a different concert to the one that will feature on the disc inside- I'm not sure it's official yet. I really don't think Celine would find that picture flattering.

 

I vote for Thomas's version- that's the Celine everyone saw on the tour and people who will see the disc will be brought back and want to buy it.

 

Though the crowd in Dublin is impressive, it just shows Celine miming in a needless melodramatic pose- the more I see it, the more I think it's a bad marketing idea.

 

P.s should we bombard celinedion.com with emails of protest???

I totally agree with this! Its Taking Chances Live from "Boston" there is no way this is set in concrete official cover, it makes no sense really? Great point!!
