Edwin Posted January 14, 2008 at 12:59 AM Posted January 14, 2008 at 12:59 AM (edited) I was thinking today about the many awesome friends I have made on this forum. Thank you! You enrich my life in more ways than you. But I got to thinking, I am listening to this song because of this person... Hehe. As I have gotten to know some people better, I have found out their Celine story. What they like about her, and the songs that mean so dear to them. Hopefully Dj won't mind me sharing this, but I never listened to D'elles until him. I just hadn't gotten that far in my Celine music yet. But I did, and I loved it. And I always think of him when I hear OSAC. Of course now I have my own favorites from that album, Femme comme chacune comes to mind. But it's the songs that have a story behind them that make them that more special. And Mama P, I now listen to If That's What It Takes, and am reminded of your support during a difficult time I had recently. There are more songs that remind me of friends, but I don't want to tell the story behind them so I can protect their privacy. I just wanted to let people know that I think about them. Edited January 14, 2008 at 01:00 AM by EdwinDeux Quote
KimboCosmo Posted January 14, 2008 at 01:35 AM Posted January 14, 2008 at 01:35 AM (edited) Thats awesome!! I haven't ventured into D'elles yet either...and I want too really bad, but it frustrates me when I can't understand the words in French I'll probably break down and order it anyway! celinedionsfan Posted January 14, 2008 at 05:51 AM Posted January 14, 2008 at 05:51 AM Thank you, Edwin. Most of the songs I like remind of the love I lost... But "There You'll Be" by Faith Hill reminds me of one of my high school teachers. She had such a positive impact on my life... and after many years, I was actually able to get in touch with her again and she is still in my life... It's just that he gave me a new life..love ya, Jaanu I didn't used to like "Surprise Surprise" so much but Davey asked me to give that song a "good" listen and Voila! now that's one of my fav tracks from the album. WFTM reminds me of my first crush in High School but thank god I got over that And there are more but i dont wanna type so much Quote

Edwin Posted January 17, 2008 at 10:41 PM Author Posted January 17, 2008 at 10:41 PM Yay, more people who have songs that remind them of certain people. Misled was the first song I can remember hearing by Celine. And that was because of my Mom, so when I heard a song from TCOML, I think of my Mom. Quote

stevethefan Posted January 18, 2008 at 03:47 AM Posted January 18, 2008 at 03:47 AM Well one of the interesting things to me about music is how you can hear a song from the past, usually, and it caninstantly bring you back to a moment in time. Sometimes I will hear some song that I usually don't hear that much now and when it takes me back to some event or person or place instantly. Now that may not always be positive, since it could remind you of things you DON"T want to remember but it's usually positive. For example I was watching some ad the other night for some CD collection of songs. When they were playing one particular song it reminded me of when I had to wake up to go to high school since that song was popular at that time and my alarm clock was set to the radio so I remember that song vividly. ByuSmurf Posted January 18, 2008 at 03:27 PM Posted January 18, 2008 at 03:27 PM What a cool topic, Edwin! When I hear certain Céline songs - they are like taking a trip back in time. I've always felt that her songs were stories from my life. Could be why I LOVE her music so much!! Ziggy - reminds me of one of my BF that I fell in love with, yet like the song... he was gay and my love would be unrequited.Water From the Moon - the love I so desperately tried to get from my ex-husband - No matter what I did, it was never good enoughDid You Give Enough Love - My ex wondering why our marriage didn't work out!Misled - My ex thinking that I wanted to get back with him! Many, Many, more stories and friends that I am reminded of not only with Céline songs but other artists, too. Quote http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/byusmurf/siggy12-25-05.jpg
