Derek F. Posted January 11, 2008 at 07:22 PM Posted January 11, 2008 at 07:22 PM Hi Everyone!! I know I haven't posted for a while, but i still love this forum and visit almost everyday!! So, I really felt that I needed to start this topic, because Celine has really touched my life with alot of songs she has sung and recorded about God and religion. I was curious if Celine has touched many of her fans too, especially on this forum...so has Celine touched your life with any religious song??? For me, Celine's Call The Man is incredibly meaningful! The lyrics are amazing, and Celine's live performances of this song really move me! I love that this song is about Calling out to Jesus because in today's world we all need HIM more than ever!!! I also really love Prayer from the album A New Day Has Come. It really can give you chills!!! O Holy Night and The Prayer blow me away as well, especially the big note of NOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLL!! at the end of O Holy Night! I would love Celine to record another Christmas album, but what i would really love is if Celine recorded gospel album! Wouldn't that be AWESOME!!!! Celine sings with ALOT of emotion and really seems to give some of her very best vocals on regilious songs. I think that Celine was blessed by God with her voice and i believe he sings through her. Celine has the voice of an angel!!! and come on...her first album was called...The Voice Of God/The Road To God! Songs like Call The Man and Prayer have brought me closer to God and Jesus and to me that is the best thing Celine has ever done for me, or could do for anyone. Do YOU agree? Quote
marckvls Posted January 11, 2008 at 08:09 PM Posted January 11, 2008 at 08:09 PM Yeah, Celine would be such a great gospel singer.. But my fav gospel one is A New Dawn! I love it Quote Love comes to those who believe it...
Costa Santos Posted January 11, 2008 at 08:42 PM Posted January 11, 2008 at 08:42 PM Celine's gospel song that touched my heart the most is New Dawn. manilou Posted January 11, 2008 at 08:43 PM Posted January 11, 2008 at 08:43 PM As an atheist I don't really care about these religious songs. I just like them for their melody. I think Céline has done much more meaningful songs than Call the man and prayer, even tough I'd like her to do some more socially critical songs. And I don't think Céline will ever do a religious album, because she once said she wants to please as much people as possible and a religious album is not the best thing to do so. If she records a christian album atheists or people of other religions wouldn't like or even buy the album very much. Javier_Natalio Posted January 12, 2008 at 10:13 AM Posted January 12, 2008 at 10:13 AM sorry I'm her biggest fan but she's the whitest, and should stay away from gospel, NEW DAWN is like the WORST SHE'S RECORDED EVER ahahahahah she shouldn't try to be black! let's all embrace the whitest chick ever, and she knows it... CELEONEEEE DEYON!!!! Quote
leenylover Posted January 12, 2008 at 11:22 AM Posted January 12, 2008 at 11:22 AM I can live without religious songs, but the sound of gospel music is awesome, and Celine totally nails it! Celine as the callibre of human being she is, is powerful enough, there is no need for religious messages, but as long as she stays true to herself, I'd be happy. Love Lisaxxx Quote My List of Celine Dion stuff, PM me to trade!
corr_azy Posted January 12, 2008 at 01:49 PM Posted January 12, 2008 at 01:49 PM I think Celine is definitely capable of recording a gospel album. She does have that "black gospel" sound on some of her songs. Quote
Black Kitten Posted January 12, 2008 at 02:42 PM Posted January 12, 2008 at 02:42 PM sorry I'm her biggest fan but she's the whitest, and should stay away from gospel, NEW DAWN is like the WORST SHE'S RECORDED EVER ahahahahah she shouldn't try to be black! let's all embrace the whitest chick ever, and she knows it... CELEONEEEE DEYON!!!!i agree. NEW DAWN for me is her worst song ever! we have A NEW DAY HAS COME album, A NEW DAY HAS COME song, A NEW DAY CONCERT las vegas, A NEW DAY CD (las vegas), A NEW DAY DVD (las vegas), and in NEW DAWN she screams another A NEW DAY? NEW MATERIAL PLEASE!!! back to topic, CALL THE MAN is her most beautiful religious song. the voice, the message, the choir, the production. WONDERFUL. Quote
asiii m Posted January 12, 2008 at 06:11 PM Posted January 12, 2008 at 06:11 PM I loved "Call the man" so so so so so very much no need for another song like that as far as I am corcerned, but I won't mind if Celine records one again and it comes out Quote Some people have everything - they have nothing.May 21st, 2008 - Paris, Bercy & November 22nd, 2013 - Antwerpen, Sportpaleis
Terre Posted January 13, 2008 at 02:03 PM Posted January 13, 2008 at 02:03 PM As an atheist I don't really like religious songs 'cause I can't possibly relate to the lyrics. I think gospel music sounds amazing ( ) but I don't like the lyrics so I'd like Céline to record songs with non-religious lyrics that sound like gospel. betterone Posted January 14, 2008 at 05:52 AM Posted January 14, 2008 at 05:52 AM Call The Man is one of my favorite of all times. Also, Only One Road, though it's not religious, but it inspires me a lot. Quote
Immensité Posted January 14, 2008 at 12:02 PM Posted January 14, 2008 at 12:02 PM One of my favorites is "Ave Maria"...I listen to it very often,I like it a lot-it's very beautiful.I listen to it at Christmas(of course)and in the summer,spring-all year... Another favorite is "La memoire D'Abraham"... Quote
grobandion Posted February 12, 2008 at 09:01 PM Posted February 12, 2008 at 09:01 PM I really like "Call the man", it's awesome, but my fav religious one is "A mother's prayer" from the Miracle album. I like it better than "The Prayer" with Bocelli.I also love "New dawn". I have no gospel background, since it doesn't sound much here in my country, but I think she sounds great. Quote
