Celiniac Posted January 5, 2008 at 05:25 PM Posted January 5, 2008 at 05:25 PM Yes, I realize the comical nature of this absurd request, considering it is more than likely not ever going to happen but we can all dream, right? And as Walt Disney said, "If you can dream it you can do it!" it could happen! If anyone knows of any way I could send Celine Dion a letter requesting this or at least a contest or something, can you please let me know? I sent an eight page letter back in October, requesting to meet her at her 3rd to last Vegas concert that my wife and I attended but of course, the three letters I sent were never responded to. I even sent them certified, but it's obvious why it didn't happen. Now I'm thinking since my wife and I are having a bigger and more formal wedding in June of 2009( we just eloped on December 29th) maybe it's more likely? Please help! Thanks! Tysa Quote
Annalicious Posted January 5, 2008 at 07:27 PM Posted January 5, 2008 at 07:27 PM She gets tons of requests. However, little known fact is that most major celebrities can be booked but her booking fee is going to be steep. So if you're prepared to spend at least in the hundreds of thousands if not a million it might not be impossible. Assuming you're not that loaded, your next best bet would be to get a good sound system and play your favorite CD or project the DVD, or to hire an inpersonator. Quote
Shamrock_1982 Posted January 5, 2008 at 07:34 PM Posted January 5, 2008 at 07:34 PM (edited) depending on how much cash u got n as some fans have said ur gonna need alot, n if that is not an problem u gotta consider her diary and where she'll be in the world at that time as apparently shes doing a few weeks/months in vegas after the tour, but good luck n let us know how it goes Edited January 5, 2008 at 07:39 PM by Ire23 Quote
Filine Posted January 5, 2008 at 07:37 PM Posted January 5, 2008 at 07:37 PM You could always try and give her an invitation personally...I think that sending it through her office would make the chance that she ever reads your request personally extremely slim. Her people filter the requests and give her only the stuff that's really exceptional, touching or special. Maybe during the tour you can try to deliver the invitation and a letter to her or René personally...but still the chances would be like...anyway we LOVE to dream Quote http://www.celinedion.nl/pics/cindy/bannerza.jpg"They call my home the land of snow, Canadian cold front movin' in"

Thomas Posted January 5, 2008 at 07:57 PM Posted January 5, 2008 at 07:57 PM I don't think I've ever heard of her doing small private events like weddings and parties apart from under special circumstances. We've heard rumours that she was asked to perform for various rich businessmen etc over the years but I don't know if she ever did. http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/9153/adamandcelinelf2.jpg Here she's singing "All The Way" with Adam Austin Arnold and this was a privare party but it was because it was for the doctor who helped deliver Rene Charles (you can see a video about the story on YouTube ). I don't think you will have much chance of getting her to attend unfortunately but good luck with it anyway! Quote

Celiniac Posted January 5, 2008 at 08:39 PM Author Posted January 5, 2008 at 08:39 PM (edited) So far I've received a few responses and as much as I appreciate them, they are all common sense to me. I realize it's going to cost a lot of money(which I obviously don't have but my stepmom is loaded so money is not an issue). Plus, this is my wedding we're talking about. It's worth the money. And even if not at the wedding, at one of her concerts is fine. I just want Autumn to meet her. The wedding, of course, would be spectacular(obviously). I realize that she rarely ever reads the letters people send to her, but in response to the "she only reads letters that are touching according to her "team" who sometimes forward those touching ones on..." if you read the letter I wrote back in October, you would realize just how touching it is. It is eight pages long and it has to do with my wife who has been a fan since, well, since she was ten years old. She had a very very difficult childhood and still encounters a lot of issues now but she mind over matters it all, etc. She's just an amazing person and doesn't ever need or want anyone's sympathy. That's why I think she deserves to meet her. I know that "bumping into the right person at a concert" is the best way but I am wondering where to send the letter so that her team can possibly forward it to her(if it's "touching" enough). I have spoken to several people in Vegas jut a few weeks ago that have actually met Celine and say how personable and non conceeded she is. So I know that if she were to just get the letter in her hands and read it, she would be more than happy to meet Autumn. I just know she would. As you all know, she is an amazing person at heart and doesn't let her fame and talent get in the way of her charming and grateful nature. I know that since my wife doesn't have cancer or anything like that the chances of her getting to meet her are pretty near impossible. I know all this. All I'm wondering is who to contact to get the right connections. I know you need connections for everything in this world. I'm not stupid. And I don't mean all of this rudely, I just don't want you guys thinking I'm that naive. And I know that she is on tour all over the world for the next couple of years. I have done my homework. And by the way, I don't think that those of you who had negative replies have ANY idea how much of a dreamer I am. I have been able to make pretty much anything I have ever wanted to happen because I am persistent and NEVER give up. And "what my baby wants, my baby gets." So yeah, I know the chances are slim but I know there is a chance. Edited January 5, 2008 at 08:48 PM by Celiniac Quote

Tysa Tysa, although I am an adovcate of dreamers, I'm going to be realistic. Please do not take this personally nor harshly. Celine will not show up at your wedding nor would she even record a video message for you.A lot of the time when Celine does video messages, it's for people she's closed to, or when there are opportunities for great publicity and exposure in various media (hundreds of thousands or millions of people viewing). If you are not a family member, nor a friend, nor a business associate, nor any kind of professional affiliate with her management - the best thing she will do for you is send a card with up to seven words of blessing and then her signature. Although one can write her letters, support her as a fan, or buy tons of tickets to see her at concerts in many different places - that person still has the stranger status. Weddings can be very sacred and personal. Normally, people of the inner circle - meaning immediate family and close relatives are the main people involved. Celine demands between $2 million to $5 million for a private concert. It takes major steps to even reserve her. There must be a formal proposal sent to her management. A reservation fee - might be non-refundable - is sent to her management - could be between $250,000 to $750,000. Edited January 5, 2008 at 08:51 PM by Love, Quote

Annalicious Posted January 5, 2008 at 09:15 PM Posted January 5, 2008 at 09:15 PM Well if money isn't an object and a meet and greet is what you're after she sometimes does charity auctions that include a meet and greet as part of a prize. Those go for at least several thousand. If she's getting an award at a big charity gala then you can usually buy tickets to the dinner...though she may not stay very long you could get lucky and catch her on her way out. Also, local radio stations will probably have backstage pass contests around the time of her concerts. Connections help too but only if the connection is top brass at Sony or AEGLive. If your wife's story is truly interesting/inspiring then you can write to Oprah shortly before Celine starts a promo tour. And if you live in a major city and have s*** else to do then waiting for her outside a television studio where she's appearing can work too (just make sure it's not a place with an underground garage). Mostly you just need luck. She's hard to meet but not impossible. I've been a fan for 10 years and only just met her in November just by being in the right place at the right time. Quote
SuperLove4Celine Posted January 5, 2008 at 10:06 PM Posted January 5, 2008 at 10:06 PM Howdy, I think what you'd like to do for your wedding is very touching. (Congratulations, by the way.) The one thing I'm going to slightly touch on is your paragraph about your eight page letter. I would try to find a way to condense those eight pages into one, two at the max. if you seriously have no other choice. The reason for this is because with the amount of mail Feeling/Celine gets each and every day they simply don't have the time to go through a letter that is long. I don't want to put negative thoughts out there, but I have a hunch that your letter got received and then discarded or quickly glanced at, but no further. Re-read your letter (if you still have a copy) and take notes as to what the key points are. Make a list of everything that you want to mention. Then, from this list prioritize it. Think to yourself, "If I only had 5 minutes to talk to Celine what are the items in this list that I would HAVE to mention." If this is hard for you it wouldn't surprise me. Get help from family and friends. Have them look at your list and/or letter. Perhaps they will be able to shed some insight. Again, make sure to get this baby (the letter - hehe) down to no more than two pages at most. If possible make sure to hand-write the letter. Make sure every single letter and word is legible. Again, have a friend or family member read the letter to make sure there are no letters or words that are questionable. If you can't handwrite the letter make sure to type it on a typewriter or computer and to choose a classic font that is NOT used by the majority of the public. (I.e. don't use Times New Roman or Arial.) And again get opinions from family and friends - from the easiest of going to the hardest to impress of them all. This will give you a well-rounded concensus of opinions. I hope this has helped and I haven't rambled on for too long. Good luck,Joe Quote

celinerific Posted January 6, 2008 at 01:09 AM Posted January 6, 2008 at 01:09 AM (edited) I hate to be a pooper at a party, but I'm leaning quite a bit on Sopha's (Love,) response to this. But that's life, you know? I mean... the fact that dreams can come true if you believe, is theoretically true... but then again, some dreams, such as this one, are very difficult to accomplish. Would you honestly be willing to give up that much money (which to many of us is a buttload more than we'll ever have) to have Celine attend your wedding? Sure, it would make it an amazing experience, but is it realistic? If you marry the one of your dreams, isn't that enough? Wouldn't you want a financial stability in your home (before and or after having children) instead of sprinkling it ontop of an already-fabulous sundae wedding? Having the ones you love and whom you know love you back with you on your special day is the best thing in the world. And random note here....Would Celine even have the time to do extra stuff? You know with her tour, and then those other "talked-about" projects after the tour? I highly, highly doubt that the bride would want to wait outside a television studio in a wedding gown, waiting for Celine to come out! :mdr: In all seriousness though, if you do win a meet-and-greet auction and are guaranteed a meet with Celine - if it really means so much to you - I'd say make special arrangements so that you can have you wedding attires or something close to it, and even hire a professional photographer to be with you to capture those special moments. The photographer can take candid photographs of you and your husband meeting Celine. Check to see if Celine's management would allow, as well. Quote
Annalicious Posted January 6, 2008 at 05:19 AM Posted January 6, 2008 at 05:19 AM Sophoan, reading comprehension, dude...in his second post Tysa said that even if it's not at the wedding, one of the concerts is fine...he just wants the wife to get to meet her. Somehow I don't think wedding garb is the issue here, rather the sentimentality of what Celine means to the guy's wife. The wedding idea, next to impossible, the wife meeting Celine idea, very hard but doable. Quote

LasVegasCanadian Posted January 8, 2008 at 02:01 AM Posted January 8, 2008 at 02:01 AM There is an agency that books entertainers for private events and Celine Dion is listed. This company has been around for awhile, based out of Texas. Go to www.grabow.bzOf couse I am a little skeptical that they can book these A List stars but I guess money talks sometimes. WHo knows? I'll never know what even a million bucks looks like!! And I am sure these people would cost millions for a couple of songs. I dunno....but good luck and congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Aline Quote
