Uhm, you're not trying to be a religious fanatic, are you? :)
:xmas_laugh:

Personally I don't understand why artists thank God in their acknowledgments anyway, not unless he's produced the album. But seriously, without getting into a big religious debate, why would she thank God over her family and loved ones? @+

:flowers:

i agree

I think it's senseless to discuss that topic.....it will end in a religious debate anyway.....Let Celine thanks whomsoever she wants...I don't think it's fair to say "She must thank GOD"...It's her own choice if she does or not.....Although I think Celine truely believes in GOD.....

how can you know that she does. You have no way of knowing her true beliefs.

Maybe Celine doesn't show her emotions towards to God in her ALBUMS covers, but she does show them in her songs.

For example in "NEW DAWN" - she sings about Jesus = God.

Anyway we all know, there is only one God in the entire world, universe.

VERY NICE TOPIC!

Ok I can see you are getting into dangerous debate here. I can already tell that you're some kind of evanjelist person. :xmas_rolleyes: You Do know that Linda perry wrote the song New Dawn and not Celine right. :giggle: And for you to procliam that "WE all know there is One God in the entire universe" is quite presumptuous of you is it not. Not so much that there may be numerous Gods but you're conveying the notion that God is a singular exclusive Being. You cant make such a presumption and then claim that "we MUST all know this" :xmaswhistling:

I'm under the impression from what she's said in interviews (or not said) as well as the footage in the AND DVD that celine does have faith that there's something bigger (and that her father's in a better place), but she has said that she isn't a practicing cathlic, so she evidently doesn't follow strict religious rules. If this is the case, it would make sense that she doesn't want to thank God, because maybe she doesn't know exactly what she believes in (which is the case for a lot of people).
I agree that Celine gives the impression she feels there's something "bigger" but I also get the impression that she believes in a more Buddist altuism notion than a Catholic one , espousing God to be an Old White man with a long white beard :giggle:

Sorry if i came across as stern in this thread but Im really tired of all the religious fanatics with their simplistic view points on God

Yeah, right if you want to mention God"s name. it would be necessary to do it on church. Well does anybody here at the forum have a picture that Celine is in Church? Although I know that Celine's do believe to God.

I know it's not a huge thing for everyone, and like I said, I respect that. I'm just saying if an artist wants to talk about God, I support that too.

We say Celine believes in God because she has said it herself in the past. Please, nobody needs to get defensive. It's just a discussion.

:innocent:

Celine truly believes in God in jesus christ.. she has said so herself and i think she thanks him everyday for Réne Charles, her voice etc...

Celine´s way to thank God is in her self she doesn´t have to mention it on her albums because she thanks him for everything and that is so beautiful i would do the same thing. :innocent:

I really think that if she chooses to thank God in her albums, it's because (and I would do the same) she is thanking him for giving her a wonderful voice, a fantastic career, a very loving family, a loving husband and son, and all the blessings he has bestowed on her throughout the years. No reason to make this a religious debate.

Seriously I don't give a damn on what she believes or not... I mean, who cares?? Would you love her less if you found out she's not a catholic? That's a senseless point to me.

And she's within her rights not to expose her personal beliefs and not to thank God in every acknowledgment if she doesn't feel like doing it

Anyway, this topic is interesting :)

What does "thanking God" on an album really prove?? What's the point? Look at alot of the artists that "thank God" in the liner notes of their albums then turn around and are drinking, doing drugs, in and out of jail/rehab, jumping from one bed to the next. It's really hipocritical.

Celine (and Rene) are smart and I respect them more for NOT making their beliefs public. I don't care if Celine believes in "God" or not. I wouldn't like her less if I found out she was a Buddist, Muslem, or a Christian. I'm a fan because of her voice and the way she carries herself not her religious beliefs.

Interesting topic. I do believe that she is Roman Catholic as she has been raised that way and hold certain beleifs. I too have been raised Roman Catholic and even went to a Catholic school for 12 years of my life. However, now as an adult, I do question many things in the church. I dont believe that one has to SHOW or SAY how much they love God in order to appreciate God or to be Cathlolic. Your own faith should be something you hold within you. As Adults, you have to have a critical consciousness about the world. Ive realized that the Catholic belieifs are not the only and even as a Catholic, I dont agree with everything about it. For me, I started to raise awareness when I was 13 and my father was a HUGE catholic fanatic, going to church all the time and always saying how my mother and I dont believe in God because we dont go to church all the time. Yet although my father went to church, he was an alcoholic and an abuser towards me and my mother. Is that Catholic? Celine herself said in a recent interview that I found on YouTybe...it wasnt on E-talk, but it was also in New York with a woman interviewer and in the same settting..cant remember the link....ANYWAYS..lol the interviewer said that "In Virtro Fertilization" goes against the catholic church and she said something along the lines of " I love Rene Charles with all my heart, even though we didnt have him the natural way. Some people have their children naturally and they abuse them....is that Catholic?

Anyways, i Guess she does hold God within her heart and in her values since she has been raised Roman Catholic, however I think she also feels that there is a lot of things that she agree's with, which is totally natural. I think no matter what belief we come from, we might question parts of it .

Ah, but that's where it gets tricky. Is it "New Dawn" that shows her true feelings about God, or is it "Prière païenne"? Remember, not every song is about her personally; she steps out of herself for most of her songs, actually. So, it's not necessarily safe to assume that one song represents her true feelings just because it happens to agree with your point of view.

I could care less whether she mentions God in her albums, but she does sing about him in many other songs, not just New Dawn. A ton of the Christmas songs from that album she speaks of Jesus and God and religious beliefs...I'm not so sure she isn't well grounded in her beliefs. I've always looked up to her for that. But whatever, it really doesn't matter...I love Celine for Celine, I think all the petty talk and arguments over religion and politics is immature and rediculous. :xmas_rolleyes:

No one knows what she truely feels anyway. I hate when people act like they live with Celine and know every move she makes and what kind of God or which God she worships...its so stupid...like they live in her head and know what she is thinking at all times!

It's the dumbest thread.
lol. :xmas_laugh: you know religion is dumb. Celine loves John Lennon and as John lennon once said, Imagine there was no countries no relgion too imagine all the people"

90 % of the world's problems stem from religion. Just look at the Jews and Arabs, they are constantly fighting about religion in the middle east. who owns this holy land and who owns that piece of land. just ridiculous! :xmas_rolleyes:

Just look at the hypocritcial right wing bible belters in USA. they are saying one thing yet doing another. They say God hates gays, women shoudn't have the right to vote etc etc but they are jumping into bed with meth male prostitutes. how many republicans are going to be outed by prostitutes. even the man that signed the anti-marriage bill for his state :sofunny:

religion is a wacky idea. :xmas_ph34r: just think about it. women not allowed to be priests, (catholic), women are unclean and not to be seen in public when having their period (muslim), God is against gays (Jewish). You must realize it was only invented to keep the masses in line back in the days. It's not relevant these days. :xmaswhistling: God is spirituality, not religion. :thumbsup2:

I don't mean to offend anyone, but do you really think that God (assuming there is a God if you happen to believe in one) doesn't have anything more important to do than read Celine's album acknowledgments?

I agree. Including God or not in her liner notes is her decision, but i think it would be giving gratitude for the aspects mentioned above. I don't believe it's such a inane or ridiculous notion. (Not saying she should be including God if she is a believer.) Celine's religion is her business, and I don't respect her in any more or less by it.

I don't know...everyone has a right to do whatevere he wants and to feel whatever he likes..i've noticed that, but i don't see the point she should sing sth related to God,is important that she believes in only..this is my opinion..and that's her intimacy as well...
Thank u Jesus. Im in ur hands now.
