Lana-ua Posted December 25, 2007 at 07:12 PM Posted December 25, 2007 at 07:12 PM Merry Christmas to all of you!!!!!! Hope you have a great time! I need your opinion about something that came through my mind today when I was listening over again '' I know what love is". The most inspirable song, isn`t ? And I think it could be a great duet song. It would have wonderful sound if a singer, maybe like Ricky Martin performed it with Celine. Or maybe someone else? What do you think about it? And generally which of Celine's songs that she sang solo could be nice in duet version? Quote
peo Posted December 25, 2007 at 11:52 PM Posted December 25, 2007 at 11:52 PM I cannot imagine Celine singing with Ricky Martin. Black Kitten Posted December 26, 2007 at 12:14 AM Posted December 26, 2007 at 12:14 AM me too.. i can't imagine celine singing with ricky martin.. i just think ricky's voice is so so ordinary to weave with celine's if she'll do that song with another artist, it would be perfect to do it with josh groban or luther vandross(rip). another song that i think would have been a great duet is I GOT NOTHIN' LEFT with the writter himself, Ne-Yo. ne-yo did also a wonderful job doing the backing vocals for the song, but it could be better if they did that as real duet.. Bell Posted December 26, 2007 at 02:00 PM Posted December 26, 2007 at 02:00 PM Well, the song is great but I don't think it needs to be a duet. Quote 16 YEARS A FORUM MEMBER
Esty Posted December 26, 2007 at 04:05 PM Posted December 26, 2007 at 04:05 PM Well, the song is great but I don't think it needs to be a duet. I agree. And I kinda can't imagine a today-popular-male singer with whom Celine could do a duet.Someone mentioned Luther Vandross... Maybe he would have did it. Too bad they didn't sing a duet. He had an amazing and warm voice... Quote
scorp82 Posted December 27, 2007 at 02:40 AM Posted December 27, 2007 at 02:40 AM I had never thought about I Know What Love Is as a duet... I know she sang That's the Way It is with 'NSYNC on the All the Way special back in 1999, but maybe that song would sound interesting had she sung it with Justin Timberlake. For some reason, I think his voice would be somewhat suited for that song. Then again, I don't know... Just a thought. Quote
Lana-ua Posted December 27, 2007 at 09:18 PM Author Posted December 27, 2007 at 09:18 PM Thank you so much for your responses. No, I am not a big fan of Ricky. But I think he is talented, has a strong and the same time a soft voice that can be recorded together with Celine. It’s easy to find nice women’s voice. With the men I think , its harder. Well, I just thought “I know what love is’’ looks a little bit like a dialogue between two people that in love and ready to fight and sacrifice just anything to be together. The same as ‘’When you believe” featuring Whitney and Mariah , the words of the song was written for only one singer, but how great the song sounded when they sang it together. Celine had done a great job, no doubt in that. I adore the way she sang there, but maybe the song would me more famous in duet version, or maybe it’s because I just love to hear how Celine likes to experiment with other singers. Quote
neilg Posted December 28, 2007 at 12:29 AM Posted December 28, 2007 at 12:29 AM Hmmm. I think this song is perfect as it is - I don't think there's any need for a duet, or anything. Céline's voice sounds so fragile on this song, which I think suits it perfectly. Quote
sayyed Posted December 28, 2007 at 12:39 AM Posted December 28, 2007 at 12:39 AM I may be the only one, but to me IKWLI is one of Celine's worst ballads ever. The song is badly produced and the whole arrangement sound cheap - as if it comes all out of a childrens keyboard. Celine sings it nice and would love to hear the original ATW-version, cause that album is one if not the best produced and arraged english album of hers. Maybe it would have been a good duet, yes the lyrics fit. I would love to hear Celine with Daniel Bedingfield, Justin Timberlake and/or Eros Ramazotti someday! Thecolourofmylove Posted December 28, 2007 at 01:01 AM Posted December 28, 2007 at 01:01 AM I LOVE the song. I feel Celine's emotion in the song... a sense of thrill that she now knows what love is. NO DUET! Poo Poo on a duet version ... poo! fred Posted December 28, 2007 at 01:37 PM Posted December 28, 2007 at 01:37 PM About IKWLI: I think it's a very cheap and banal song, and just another one in the line of those songs. It's an insult to waste Céline's vocals on B-material like this. It's not even worthy being on One Heart. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.

felixwhoals Posted December 29, 2007 at 02:35 AM Posted December 29, 2007 at 02:35 AM This song I would say is the best Ballad song from One Heart's album. I am actually listening to this song right now. A duet on this song? Hmm, don't think it would match with Ricky's voice. He doesn't seem to be a person who sings slow music. celinerific Posted December 29, 2007 at 06:09 AM Posted December 29, 2007 at 06:09 AM In my ears, "I Know What Love Is" is a very beautiful song. End of story. Quote http://i58.tinypic.com/2qbub9c.png @ErikaTran | Insta: aireexwp | erikatran.com
disadiva Posted December 29, 2007 at 10:50 AM Posted December 29, 2007 at 10:50 AM The song is not one off her best ballads it is cheap produced by longtime partner Ric wake he´s done better for Celine. This song could be a duet but not with Ricky Martin. Marc Anthony sounds better than him or Josh Groban. I Know What Love Is is just ok for my taste but the Lyrics are wonderful i wish the song could be better though. Black Kitten Posted December 29, 2007 at 01:37 PM Posted December 29, 2007 at 01:37 PM that song is i think one of her great ballads. on one heart, it may be a "filler" for some, but it is i think the "killer" ballad of the album. im so in love with the song especially the way she sings the chorus. so emotional, inspirational as well., very simple, the voice of celine sounds very relaxing, and i can listen to this song all day long. this is probably my favorite song from one heart. Lana-ua Posted December 29, 2007 at 02:51 PM Author Posted December 29, 2007 at 02:51 PM Hi again, There are so many different points of you, which makes me really happy to see . Eros Ramazotti and Marc Antony, yes, probably they would match to Celine's voice. I am sure with time we will discover other famouse male singers . Who knows maybe Celine will make duets with them one day. Quote
